I was trying to find a "speedchip" taken apart and I found this gem..
Here is the ebay listing: LINK
The best part is in the listing they say: "Our competitors won't show you what's in their speedchips because it's just a simple resistor.. but we do!" lol.. What we have here folks is a 20-pin DIP package chip. Now there are two wires to it and an IC needs power and ground which is more than likely the two connections. That means there's no output.. lol.. you'd be basically applying power to this 'chip' for no reason. Worst yet.. that backwoods soldering job could be bad and orientation could be off, which might cause this chip to overheat / melt / catch on fire / short out.. etc..
If you're "lucky" this could turn out to be a resistor array so instead of 1 resistor it's a chip of 10 resistors but only utilizing 1. This is hilarious.. please don't be fooled folks.

I totally missed that.. lol.. I guess who we know this is marketed for.. :cough: rednecks :cough:
but on a real note.. I saw a 3G NBP TL-S in downtown Austin. It had a towing hitch. I should have taken a picture.

I sent a message to that e-bay seller, thanking him for the amusement of seeing an IC chip with two wires soldered to it, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. All his positive feedback shows there really is a sucker on every street corner. He's getting the last laugh though.
