TL V2 modified Headlights question

Hello all,

I've been talking to someone from endless rpm for about a few weeks now about a pair of modified headlights I would like to purchase to give my car a refreshed new look.
I've been thinking about it for a few months now and saved up enough to buy them outright. Since my car is a 06 TL, I'll have to purchase these newer ones and replace my stock lights.

The description of the headlights and what modifications I'll be getting are located here special order items - (in description) - EndLess RPM

and this is what it may look like since there is no picture in the link.

Quoted price is $1117 Total shipped to my door

Does this sound like Im getting my money's worth in terms of mods? I have no doubt his work is top quality.

Just want hear what you guys have to say about this.

I would never pay that much for headlight mods. IMO I would never touch the headlights or taillights I love how they look OEM. But that's just my preference. It's your car and if you like it then go for it!

I should have mentioned that the OEM like new headlights themselves cost about $600 for a pair.

-mods-
clear diffuser
carbon fiber over the corner of the clear diffuser
black chrome bar over the clear diffuser
zkwr lens
color changing demon eyes (with switch)
blacked out

at the cost of $420 Shipping is not included in this price.

Shipping is $100 extra.

I think that could be a little steep - I have modified my own headlights and have some breakdown on pricing -
-Clear diffusers - $100.00
-Zkw-r Lenses - $40.00
-Demon Eyes - $35+ - depends on the brand - if based on Endless - then probably the lucenta brand - $45 (for color changing)
-CF wrap for the ends - $10 - 30 (depending on brand/quality)
-Various supplies - Butyl Rubber - $10 - 15 (to help reseal)
- Silica Packets - $5 (usually replaced to help with moisture inside the housing)
- paint to coat the housing/light rings/turn signal strip $?? not sure what he uses
So with the above customization you're looking at like - $235 - based on the high end of cost + the cost of the lights (based on your order) can be anywhere from $200 a light and up (depending on quality) - so safe estimate $400 a pair
gives you a total around $635 - that's just a ballpark figure - again outsourcing the work will cost extra to have someone else do the work, it does take time to get it right and have non-leaking high quality work. Bruce does excellent work, but like I said, price seems little steep, I would ask for a breakdown/itemization on cost from them...
the better alternative would be to get the trade in service - unless you have a 04 - 06 and want the 07/08 style.

Considering that price includes a set of headlights - OEM ones at that - the price is not bad. Can it be done DIY? Sure. Is it fun? Not really. Is it worth the money? Depends on the person. A set of black housing Depo's cost around $550 and then you don't have an OEM lens anymore.

Hello,

The headlight assmebly is about $500-$550 per side brand new for the 07-08 headlights. Please keep that in mind. The headlights in the provided picture are the 07-08 model.

Edit: I have had my headlights modified with ZKW-R lenses and would recommend having this work done by a professional.

Good luck!

I paid $460 shipped for my retrofits. Minimoto projectors, E55 shrouds, bulbs, ballasts, fully plug and play. But I was converting from halogens so that might make a difference. Beam pattern is outstanding. Might be worth messaging Albin Salinas on Facebook (sorry, only way I know how to contact him) and see what he can do with retrofits.

Why not modify your existing headlights instead of buying new ones? Can still look good / fresh and much cheaper.

See I think those numbers sound right then, especially for a mint condition OEM pair. Alot of people are telling me to use my own headlights and be done with it because it'll save money, kind of be what I'm looking for but the price would be much more reasonable.Still on the fence about that.

Thanks for your input.

I really like the double projector look, even though I know it's not really another projector in there. Do you think I can do something about that with my current headlights??

I mean make it look to as close as the 07-08 headlights?

shoot man - do a projector retrofit in place of the fog light (if you have the 04-06 headlights) - you can easily put an s2k projector in that the space, it is slightly smaller than the TL's D2S projector -
this is a quad projector set up (07/08 headlight though) with the DRL retro'd for the s2k projector...this is Ross Beckner's car owner at Arora customs...

Can you do the retrofit on your own? If you can't you're going to have to pay someone else to do it. Just buy the ones and call it a day.

I like the headlights because other than the projectors they look OEM. If I'd done bi-xenon (high beams also HID) would have been a couple hundred more. Looking to do that with my G35 because even though the stock headlights are HID, the beam pattern and throw are nothing compared to the retrofits.

Good luck with whatever you decide, proper projectors make a huge difference!
