TL size vs TSX size

I was at the dealer this morning getting a valve reseated and took a quick look at the TSX. It was sitting right next to a base model 08 TL. Just by visual comparison they looked identical in size. Having look that the Acura site this is what I found out.

TL TSX
Wheelbase 107.9 106.6
Lenght 189.3 186.2
height 56.7 56.7
width 72.2 72.5

All the measurements are in Inches. It is amazing that the TSX grew enough to pretty much match the same size as the TL.

Like I previously stated, they looked to be the same size just looking at them.

the TSX still feels smaller on the inside though, but yeah, a noticeable difference from the last model. it will be interesting to see how much the 4G TL grows...

Oh come on.... you couldn't see that the TL was 3 inches longer? Open your eyes my man.

j/k - I sometimes get the TSX confused with a TL if I'm head on at a light.

The new TSX's expanded exterior size annoys me- I preferred the smaller one. I really hate the "bigger, heavier" trend, esp. with "compact" cars, and was pleased that the 3G TL was actually shorter than the 2G TL.
I remember when Accords and Camrys were compacts... not the Avalon-sized frigates they are now.

I wonder is the 09 TSX still has a slightly larger trunk than the TL???

ya they might be the same size but would you rather have the TL's engine or the TSX's engine...

Why do you think I bought the TL!! Engine baby!! With hypermiling the TL I am currently getting 33 MPG for my daily driving, not bad for a V6.

I have to agree with the above poster about the size. The compact cars in the luxury class are getting larger and larger while the power stays the same!

But I really feel for the TSX guys that loved the car because it was smaller and more nimble then the TL.

I got an '08 TSX as a loaner today. I felt cramped in it, and I'm 5'5". I couldn't imagine 3 people squeezing into the rear seat. Oddly I was getting 20.8 mpg on the highway (I think the tires were underinflated, maybe that's why?), vs. 30+ in my TL. With a base price of $29K, I'd buy an Accord EX-V6 instead of the TSX. Driving the TSX today just made me love my TL even more!

But despite dimensions, the TSX is still quite a bit lighter isn't it?

The new Accord is as big as an RL so expect the new TL to also bloat up.

I haven't checked out the new TSX yet. One thing I noticed driving my father's 2004 TSX on occasion is that what I call the "butt portion" of the seat (that is, the part you SIT on) seems a bit small in the TSX compared to in the TL—that is to say, I find I get less thigh support in the TSX than I do in the TL. I don't think I'm all that tall (6'1"), so I wonder if the TSX seats are just designed for small people. It's too bad, because otherwise I think it's a very enjoyable car, even with the automatic. The TSX's engine is very peppy and suits the car quite nicely; it reminds me a lot of my old 1982 Accord in that respect.

What vehicle needed a valve reseating. You know that consists of actually removing the cylinder head right.......
They couldnt have done that while you waited
