My parents have a 2004 silver tl. I have a 92 legend, and I want to know if the new TL has side airbags that are built into the seat, or if they are on the door/B pillar.

Thanks a bunch. If there is not an airbag in them, then I can wire it all up, and make the brackets work...just want to check this real quick...

The 2004 TL has:
Two side airbags stored in the outer edges of the seat backs. Both are marked "side airbag"

Two side curtain air bags, stored in the front, center, and rear pillars. The front and center pillars are both marked "side curtain airbag".

So, I would have to say the answer to your question is: both.
