To start the story off, I first noticed this smudge, like the size of a quarter on my seat (under the left thigh area) a couple of months ago. At first I didn't really let it bother me. As time went on my seats started to cracked at the corners of the butt area, like little small cracks. The the cracks started to appear on the sides of the seat. Then today I noticed another smudge right under my left butt. I inspected the whole seat, and I noticed there are a total of 2 smudges now, and it looks like it's melting. It's really weird! Since my next oil change was coming up (30% left) I called acura and told them my situation. I wanted a oil change, alignment, and for them to check out my seats. She said the seat part is tricky, because the service rep has to approve of it, and another department has to approve of it also. I really hope they replace my seats because I am not trying to drive around a 30k car with cracked leather seats at 17k miles. Wish me luck!

there was another guy - you are right. Everyone accused him of eating spicy food.
Is there a problem with the heated seats? Is the element too close to the surface??

You think you have problems, good old BMW just recalled the 2004 and 2005 5 series and 2003 - 2005 7 Series due to heated seats burning a hole in the seats:
Photo of a 5 series seat with issue:
This one burned a hole in the persons's jacket too.
It is a safety issue, if they overheat, it can cause a fire, I would push the dealer on this issue, if no success, tell them you will report it to NHTSA, that usually gets their attention!
