I must say though overall I like the Acura better in almost every way so far, with the exception of its significantly lower torque. But hitting 7000 RPM with the VTEC makes up for that I'll probably only have this car for 1.5 years before moving to a newer one, as I'm just starting out my full time career here. Next car could very well be an ~06 TL. The overall package is nicer than the Maxima IMO, and the power is the same or better. Although the G35 coupe has been calling my name for some time now as well... Love that VQ!!

Just hold tight for the next gen G coupe. Preliminary info indicates that the new G's VQ will make the IS350's 306hp 2GR-FSE seem like a joke.

i have ran an 05 maxima from a 60 kick and had a half car on it at 90...i also raced an 04 from stop and pulled a car to 70..they are quick but not as efficient as the TL ..by the way this was when i had Icebox and cat-back only..

What kind of problems did you have with your 5.5G??
You know my times stock(14.62@94.35) stock already and I ran mine when it had 6,000 miles on it, I want to run it again stock now that I have stickier rubber. It pulls so much better than it did then. I have not had any of those issues that bigdo has had with mine yet. We both are still happy with it after 3 says which I could not say about our TLS's that is why my wife traded it off so soon for a 350 and later the G which she loves. When we had both the TLS and Max we ran them (yes my wife loves to run cars) and the max would always get it out of the hole and hold it off by about 1.5 cars to 80 when we shut down even switching drivers.

This (my friend) is what can be considered a rare blessing!

Back on topic, I think I may borrow my friend's TL-S for a day as I have not driven one yet. I have driven the TL-P (a 99 and 2k) and the 3G TL 5AT and to be honest, the TL-P felt faster than the 04 TL. (flamesuit on)

The 04+ Maximas (6th gen) are heavier than the 5th gen, and although they make more power, supposedly, it seems the 5th gens w/the 3.5L (5.5 gen) tend to be a little faster. I haven't had the opportunity to run a 6th gen maxima with my old car or the new TL-S, so I can't speak from experience on that.

Definatly try and take out a TL-S if you get a chance. you'll notice the significantly lower torque as compared the maxima, however there is some real nice power made in the upper RPMs. The handling in the TL-S is much better than my old Maxima as well, although I had a GLE which I've heard is a little more cushy than the SE. Also nice with the TL-S is the 5 speed tranny, at 70 mph I'm only at 2000 RPM... mileage has been awsome so far compared to the Maxima ( 70 mph = 2500 RPM)

The handling on my Murano > my Maxima.

HAHAHA ok, well guess its not just the GLE then! Heard there is a significant difference in suspension between the TL-P and -S, guessing the -P is similar to the Maxima (cushy, underdampened)

I will put it to you this way, I have more confidence in my 99 Accord LX sedan's suspension setup than my 02 Maxima SE.....even with the Accord's stock 195-65-15 anti-performance Michelin Energy tires.

If there is a major weakpoint with the 5.5G Maxima, suspension is it!!

Well, the rear BEAM axle on the '02 Maxima certainly didn't help in the handling department! Helped to make it lighter (and cheaper) though!

i dont like the front of the 07s... the back looks iight.. and the inside looks nice..not really into maximas.. but people who drive them seem to act all cocky about owning one for some reason...
