You're a better man than me. I drove my friend's R6 to the end of my street and back and that was more than enough for me. Even though I've raced cars since I was 17, bikes scare the crap out of me.
I get a little apprehensive when I think of some of the things I've done, but when you're on the bike, it's adrenaline>fear and apprehension, which isn't always a good thing. I took that ZX14 for a quick romp on the highway and have considered buying one, but I honestly don't think I'd have a license for more than a few months.

I did a couple times on two wheels, in my younger and dumber days. Never in a car though.

Are cop cars really that slow? Up here i've had a few times on the freeway when they've floored it coming behind my review mirror so fast and passing me at high speeds. Sometimes I just drive next to them on the road and they take off so quick while flashing their lights. They look so sharp. They are usually the dark blue colored crown vics.

But I was driving an automatic Honda Civic.

If I ever got a ticket, I'd take the butt-f*cking and never do it again.

But I'm not much of a speeder, gas prices make me stay at 55mph on every highway.

Man, not to bash your opinion or anything, but I'm gonna go ahead and call your bluff on this one. I was in a '96 Avalon with my friend a couple of years ago and he outran a couple of cops in jeeps and crown vics. It's all about knowing where you are. You can't do it everywhere, for example, New York city is not the place to try and outrun the cops. But little towns like Hole In The Wall, Arkansas, you'll probably get away if you know the roads well enough.

Anyways, sorry to pick you out of the group, but I felt as though this needed to be said.

G'day fellow TLers!

Let me be very clear here: A concentrated police effort on apprehending someone who is speeding will NOT end well for the speeder, no matter where you are. Period. Now maybe you think you successfully evaded police in your little incident but more than likely, a bigger fish (i.e.: a 10-30) came along and precluded their apprehension of you.

Just setting things straight.

What in the world is a 10-30? The only thing I've ever heard of a 10-30 being is for not conforming to regulations code. In this particular situation the charge would have been a felony evasion along with numerous traffic citations probably totaling 10 to 15 . I'm not so sure that they would stop chasing my friend and I for a 10-30.

Just setting things straight. :")

NYPD Codes

Son, I am not going argue this any further. Encouraging others that there are occassions where evading law enforcement can be successful is nonsense. It IS dangerous and IS likely to end terribly for those involved. DO NOT bring this up again.

Whoa, first off I'm not your son. Second off, I'm not encouraging anyone to go out and run from the cops. I was simply stating the fact that I have personally been in a situation where the speeder got away from the cops. That is it. I'm sorry if anyone who reads this thread is enough of a moron to actually believe that it would be okay to go and start high-speed pursuits with police officers.

And I'm also sorry that you misread and mistook my post for what you did.

I DO NOT CONDONE RUNNING FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS!!!!!!

Besides, no reason to get all upset about a post I make. It is the internet.

Have a great day!
