TL-S Muffler System

Hey whats up guys. I just thought I'd say its nice to finally be a member of the site as I've soaked up quite a bit before making my first Acura purchase last month. (07 TL White Diamond/Taupe interior) It's nice to be apart of an informative bunch.

I was wondering if any of you have pondered getting the TL-S Muffler system installed on your base TL. I haven't seen anything on this so I just thought I'd bring the question up. I wouldn't mind trying to install it on my car but I'm not sure its do-able...I'm sure some of you guru's would find a way though. Any input would be of great appreciation.

you're better off going after market...with a nicer, louder, deeper sounding exhaust system

The Exhaust will not fit on a 04-06 without modification to the bumper. I am not sure about a stock 07 I believe they have a similar bumper with only the cutout. Some people have put the 07 type-s A-spec rear on there stock, to do this though you have to cut your original bumper. Then you can run the the type-s pipes. Or you could just buy a new rear type-s bumper and exhaust. I hope this helps and is accurate, I am remembering information from other posts on this topic.

voigt I have the base 07. I just wanted to get that muffler system because it looked clean. I'm wondering if the piping is the same or just a tad different than the base applications. I'm probably going to have to buy a new rear bumper to fit it though. The dual tip exhaust for the win.

Another question I have. I'm wondering if the actual system is the same except the muffler. Looking at hondapartsunlimited is seems as though everything is the same except the actual muffler. If this isn't the case someone fill me in. I don't really care for the system. I just want those mean looking mufflers "if they fit".

Here is another member talking about his issues.

It was quite the drama to get all the parts, but i just complete everything. I definitely have a few recommendations for you, but for now ill answer some of your questions.

all you will you need is the rear bumper cover, and the two exhaust pieces... the tail lights are obviously optional (but i like em.) As far as the sound goes, i believe it has definitely changed, but barely louder if louder at all. Its almost as if the note is just a bit deeper. you can really hear a nice difference in the low rpms. when i really hit it all i can hear is my intake. so i may not be able to help describe the highs.

Its exactly what i was looking for being i do enjoy a quite car, the sound level is pretty much the same. but there is a difference.

the rear bumper cover is about $274 and acura sells the exhaust pieces for about $800 total. Im not sure of the installation and painting cost because when they installed my new bumper they were also fixing the back right quarter panel. If youre interested, the tail lights are $132 each. Although i've seen them for less on the internet.

Which brings me to my next recommendations. Actually they may be more like warnings. I did buy my exhaust pieces off the internet for about $600. But after the headache i went through, i've decided it was not worth it to save the extra money.

anyway heres the link to another thread explaining my problems.

Much appreciated voigt. I really want to get these mufflers but if it requires me to do to the whole system I just may pass on it. $800+ for that isn't worth it to me. Thanks again bro!
