jeowen, I understand you're "done on this topic" but I was compelled to search C&D archives for an Ocober article comparing the TL-S Automatic to other similar cars. I did find one where the ranking was (as you stated):

1. BMW 330i
2. Audi
3. Acura TL-S
4. G35

That article was a 2nd Gen TL-S from October 2002. Is that the article? Because there is something VERY wrong with the 0-60 and 1/4 mile numbers you are quoting UNLESS they are old model specs.

http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...-bmw-330i.html

The CURRENT TL-S 5AT does 0-60 in the nieghborhood of 6.2 seconds.

I assume it was just an innocent mistake on your part, not a malicious act of intellectual dishonesty.

It's not about "should the TL-S have quads". The real question is how much would if cost to MODIFY a Base 5 AT (or 6MT) TL Navi to have equal performance to the Stock 5AT (or 6MT) TL-S? If the cost is approx the same as buying the TL-S, then what's the difference?

Some of chose to save on the front end and mod up and some chose to spend on the front end and get the mods "built in". Why is that a problem for you?

Bearcat94, thank you!

I was scratching my head, and trying to uderstand those numbers of how they are possible!?

Now it makes sense, 2G TL-P stock was not fast at all, with some mods, it can be.

Man oh man, C&D just saved itself from a nasty email, lol.

we are on the same team brother...but your comments always come off as being disrespectful....

ie: mighty weak for massive quad exhaust, but you keep enjoying your rides...pick your races wisely...what the f is that...

ya I don't know what you are talking about with this 0-60 being in the high 7's nonsense. My '07 5AT TLS did 0-60 in 5.9 secs stock w/ 19s on (that was with me timing on a stop watch). You've really got to stop hating in the TLS. You'd be surprised how fast it is. Also, you can mod the regular TL all you want to make it like the TLS. Truth is that it still doesnt come close b/c u can do the same for the TLS and it would still be faster w/ the 3.5.

But we already knew that. You didn't have to build negative equity to prove it to us.

-Not to mention some colors come in only for the Type S( ex. KBP which is what i got)

im sure theres a few things i missed but dat about rounds it up

I have TLS, but i feel the interior is more like plastic instead of Carbon Fiber.

yeah i know that, but then what does "premium" add to the tl?

or is premium just referring to the base model?

Can't we all just get along! Some of us have a TL and others a TL-S. So what. I love my TL and yes if I had the green backs I would have a TL-S. I bout my TL used and I think it is so much nicer then the BMW's that are out there like my x's BMW 325xi. I didn't start this thread to start a pissing mach. I just wanted to know the power advantage that the TL-S had over my TL. I got my answer and then some. So let's just put this one to sleep shall we.
