TL RL question

If you could get a 2006 TL or RL for the same price +- $1000, what car would you get, and why?

TL because the RL is too plush and not sporty enough. It's also slower, and too large.

it's hard to chhose I have both a TL-s and a RL. I like to take the RL on long trips and i like the tl for cruising around. My wife mainly drives the RL and she loves it(she used to have a TSX so big improvement)

TL cuz i cant stand the RL's tail lights. LED circle's is not distinct enuff in the streets, but a TL's tail light is realli unique. I do like the 2009 RL's facelift, much better tail lights.

it all depends on what you want the car for. If its for traveling alot in it I would say the RL because it is very comfortable and plush. If you want something fun to ride around in and have alot of modding options then I would say TL. The RL gets a little less gas mileage due to AWD but it's not that bad.for the price of a used RL you can find a used TL-S possibly??

I love my TL but the RL has grown on me over the years.
No secret that the RL is a more substantial car. I don't race
or mod so no problem there.

Both good cars and I'll probably keep what I have.

I'm looking for comfort, good looks. (they both look good) fun to drive, but I'm not speeding any where, space for 3 little kids in the back seat, & reliability.

If you want a car that's larger and more luxurious than a TL there are many cars that are much better value for the money than an RL, for example the Infiniti M35/45. I'd also prefer some other cars from Lexus, BMW, and Mercedes before an RL.

I'd definitely get the RL, it also has a real dual exhaust system.

I've never driven the RL but I do like the AWD/dual exhaust and the more luxury feel. I'd probably go with the RL but I sure do love the sportiness of my TL-S. Now, if it was the choice between the TL and NSX, ha, the NSX in a heartbeat!

If both are close to the same price, mileage and condition I would go with the RL. You would get a lot more car for the money. I agree the RL is more plush while the TL is a little more sporty.

RL - I love my TL but frankly bought it because I couldn't afford the RL. TL is the best in its class. However and to add fuel to the fire, if I had the money for an RL I would have been looking at others in its class as well and might end up with a 5-series, GS or M45.

What is more plush about the RL than the TL? I've read about rattle problems on the TL from the rear speaker, I also read about the seats wearing down kind of quick, so what negatives have you heard or been through with the RL?

As long as it's not an 05 RL, I'd get it. You get comfort access, navi, SHAWD and a bigger car for a little bit more money.

Smitty, you want the RL. And I will still like my TL-S better. You want very different things from a car than I do.

*this is an otherwise useless post so I can gain full membership.

Having bought the TL because i wanted 6 speed, at the time, I would say TL. Knowing what i know now, with my current + future driving habits and plans? RL. Ill probably pay the TL off and trade it on an RL in a year or two if possible

I just traded my 06 tl for an 06 rl

06 tl, sport with luxury, lighter feeling, will need to upgrade rear sway bar for body roll. looks aggressive, unique exterior styling, many on the road.

06 rl, luxury with sport, solid heavier feeling, smoother, good handling and a bit boaty sometimes, aspec suspension and 09 sway bar are possible upgrades for better handling.
imo looks better, sleeker, classy, more mature car, less of them on the road.

OH one more thing, the tl forum has alot more people. the rl forum is a little bit sleepy, thats why I come back over here...hahah

Mmmmm RL
If you are looking for something more "sporty looking" get the TL
But slap a kit on the RL and you are set.

RL=More space,More Luxury, More Toys

Like Ggesq said, stay away from teh 2005. I have one and I been going through the same silly situation with the navi working and not working.

RL is not slow...maybe from a dig because of the SH-AWD.
But it will take a A/T..and hang around a M/T on the highway

Hey, how did you get NSX in your list of options? I want your agent!
