TL navi coverage in Canada

TL navi coverage in Canada
I'm considering buying a new TL. I currently have a 2002 TL-S and love it. However, I'm in love with the new TL. I live in Chicago and make frequent trips to Toronto.. My deciding factor about buying the car is Navi coverage in Canada... Is there any?
If so, how detailed are the maps in Toronto? Also, how are the maps in Halifax?
One other thing, do the gauges switch easily from MPH to k/hr? I was little annoyed on my 2002 TL-S everything was in miles...
Anyone know?

I do since I am in Toronto. The maps are very detailed. I have used the navi west to Waterloo north to Pefferlaw and east past Oshawa and every gas station and street was right on. I have only encountered one street in Toronto that wasn't marked one way when it should have been and Navquest corrected it in May. Unbelieveable system. Love the detour facility with so much construction here. In the setup you can convert between miles and kph for the navi. Both kph and mph are displayed on the dash displays for Canadian models so I don't know about the U.S. models.

Thanks for the comments! Its good to know you can convert MPH to K/mh.. I'm glad Acura recongnized that we can drive up north to another country and have to use something other than MPH!
Excellent! Thats exactly what I wanted to hear.. So if I'm traveling in the states and cross over into Canada, will the maps follow? Or do I have to put in a seperate DVD-ROM when I enter Canada?

ok NOX3.2, this is how it works, press and hold MAP, MENU AND CANCEL for few seconds, then click on NAVIGATION SYSTEM, and in there, change it to CANADA, and navigation will restart. Then you go press ok or it has option to select french. Press ok and then click on SETUP and option # 3 and press GUIDANCE VOICE and it will have option of ENGLISH AND FRENCH. We americans got MALE AND FEMALE.
go try it out.... play around lol.. I just did.
Hope that helps

Great hint on switching the Navi for Canada. Does anyone have any idea how to switch the fog lights on an American TL so that they work as Canadian DRLs?
I'm going to be traveling in Canada for a week or so and it sure would be nice to have the fog lights/DRLs just come on automatically rather than deal with using the HIDs and hassling with the dash light levels.

thanks for the tip!
I read somewhere that if you use the NAVI in (US) english you have more voice commands than if you use the Canadian setup (as it has to compensate for 2 languages) - can't confirm
