How come we don't nominate people for TL of the month and etc.
I think it's a great way to get to know members and etc...

a note on getting to know the members better, it would be nice to have like a set of questions for the TL member of the month to answer to really get to know their personality and vehicle.

not necessarily have all the same questions but have a person come up with random ones like an interview as well

Of course, I could never be a fan of voting for a TL of the month or otherwise, because even if "I" were to ever win, I would feel like someone else's hard work was slighted. I'm not into fan favorite anything as it tends to become a tool to alienate. So a spotlight TL, yeah, but a this TL looks the hottest thing, naahh! Besides, I only joined the forum to mod my TL, learn some good info about it, and to hang out with some cool people that I otherwise might never had known. Like in real life, I'm ostentacious, I love to talk and joke around, so it just transitions from there to here. Think people can tell that? LOL! In every public circle I've ever been in (school, work, etc.), I've talked trash! Meh, if people knew me, they'd just say, "Ah that's just Ray being Ray! He don't mean nothing by it". So folks should apply that here. Generally, they do. Glad, because I love being here.
Damn, this almost sounds like a bio or acceptance speech! Hahahaha!

Speak for yourself...I better damn well win somewhere between June 1 and June 30! I know, I know what I said...but I need this to validate my existence!

 

I don't know if the moderators have these sort of tools at their disposal, but I think I have an idea of how we could start doing this "featured TL" thing.

First, the moderators will go through and see which members are the most active. This way, people who are actually checking out the site and posting and looking at pictures regularly will be the ones who're being featured. Instead of doing some sort of randomization, where people who rarely check out the site suddenly have a featured TL, there will be meaning and relevance as far as which TLs are selected.

From that pool of "highly active" members, the moderators will select a new TL every so often and give it the "feature treatment." I think once every month is probably too infrequent, as we have a lot of egos to pacify, so maybe once every two weeks would be better. I feel this is an adequate amount of time to have a TL featured, commented on, suggestions given to, ragged on, etc. before moving on to the next one.

It should be on the criteria of External mods, performance mods, interior mods, overall cleanliness, with great pictures, videos would be a plus. Make a thread and let people post A picture of their car providing a link to additional pictures and let people vote.

I think maybe a thread setup with a poll, that way people dont complain about why they picked someone else. So its basically an anonymous vote

 

I like the theory behind that, but I think that might just be too much work and it would take FOREVER to finally get cars up for featuring. I think the moderators should hold that vote; maybe even a singular moderator handling all to himself.

My suggestion to simply have a moderator feature a car based on a few criteria, such as how often a member frequents AZ, how long they've been a member, how "different" their car is from stock, and such. I say use this criteria only as a "tiebreaker" of sorts in that maybe the ones that aren't modified all that much don't really get too much attention in the beginning.

Sounds like a plan - the Featured TL of the month.......just don't leave out the guys who haven't gone mod crazy......nothing wrong with a slightly stock TL....

 

Every 2 weeks you'll eventually run out of modded TLs, pick once a month based on the criteria Brettalica said length of membership, list of mods, activity in the forum and rep points. Just keep in mind if youre name is Ray you should always be highly considered as TL of the month

 

2 weeks is kinda crazy.
Just an idea for like 07 maybe pick out TL of the month (TLTM) and then when we get a full year like 12 maybe make a calander to sell featuring those TLs from a year to sell.. create more $$$ for the forum

Besides we all know if you picked them... All AM would win in which they should

Yeah but one every two weeks is 26 different TLs in one calendar year. I'm pretty darn certain there are a LOT more TLs on here that are extensively modified, let alone ones that are only a little tweaked. Plus, keep in mind that by the time you get to "the end" of the list of modified TLs, the ones that started the list will probably be ready to be featured again, as surely they'll have more modifications done within that time between when they were last featured and then.

You can see how difficult this would be if we had to vote! I say: mods take this over using the information already in this thread and run with it the way you want. My personal preference is to do one every two weeks, as that will keep it "fresh", but I'll be here either way looking at pics and dropping opinions, so it doesn't really matter all that much to me.

as long as were not racist about it, it should be cool. I mean cmon guys, does color really matter? WDP? AM? SSM? NBP? etc. under the color of our paint, were all the same, sexy pieces of metal. ever since the creation of the clear coat, we are all equal. we are a world of stage 3 paint. there is no need to use the color as an identifier.

side note, since trance is picking the cars, i would like to start a pot that 70% of the winners are going to be AM hahahaha
