I am looking to buy a TL soon prob 2004-2005. Just wondering what the fuel tank holds? Also when you guys fuel it up to full, on the digital gauge in the car, what does it say on the distance to empty when fully fueled up?

How many miles/km does it say till empty just after filling it right up? This would help get a good sense of the fuel economy for this car.

The TL also requires premium fuel and a search will give you hours of reading and yield fuel mileage averages all over the spectrum, maybe a low of 12 mpg to a high of 32 mpg. Just look at the EPA fuel mileage figures and they will be fairly accurate, 17/28 mpg will cover the cars regardless of the year, engine, or equipment (you can do the conversion to kpl). If fuel mileage is of great concern you'd be better off looking for a more economical vehicle, and the repairs aren't inexpensive when they come, unless one can diagnosis and do the work themselves.

 

The tank is 17 gallons.

Welcome to AZ!! Good luck with your TL shopping. For it's size and weight the TL has pretty good gas mileage.

 

Tank = 17.1 gal, but the light comes up after you burn up 11.5 gal.

 

^ Really? The light comes on with almost 6 gallons remaining?

 

on mine it does... I fill up when the light comes on and the MID says 20 miles remaining. And it tops off at 12 gallons, so i know I've got at least another 5 gallons in the tank.

 

Acura Laywers prob. made the light come on by 12gal consumption. lol
