TL Engine Dress up kit??

Anyone know of any engine dress up kits for the 3g TL?? Where can i purchase? I've seen a couple of peeps pics with their Valve covers either painted or replace. Also any hose kits or radiator shrowds available. I'm a noob to the TL since I was a WRx man. Thanks in advance for any info!!

You can paint all the plastic parts and the valve cover a certain color.

Wow!! Looks awesome. I'm new here, so i don't have the ability to PM anyone nor do i know how to. Do you have to send in the individual components for ballin to do that, or are those aftermarket pieces?

Here is my engine compartment. I covered all the plastic covers in a Carbon Fiber look vinyl and some Diamond Plate vinyl. The total material cost was less then $50 bucks. It has been on since Sept. 08 with no peeling issues. The Diamond plate vinyl is fading somewhat, but the CF vinyl is like new. It just cost me time vs. $$$$$. We'll see how it holds up in a hot summer of driving. So far so good.

Awesome. What do you all use to clean up the engine bay of grit and grime?

no kits for the TL but there are universal braided hose kits. i used them on mine i think they are made by mr. gasket. i also used some f6 wrap around sleeving for the hoses as well. engine covers you could paint or have a shop that specializes in carbon fiber to make you one. can be pretty expensive. you could add other stuff like intakes strut bars etc.... to dress it up some. i went a little extreme on mine. here are some closer shots of my bay and hoses.

well if you can make it look like this in a week i will it took me a while to get it like this. there was alot of custom work i had to do the battery tie down, plus the base, brackets and such, it was all fun for me though.

dont mean to thread jack Brandoid757, but if you need any advice or help just pm me bro!

Nice!! Did you do the CF wraping yourself or did you get a shop to make them for you? If you did it on your own, do you have a how to? and also, where did you purchase the wrap? Thanks for the quick responses!!

JP,

You are very right, what I should have said was, I am gonna have my paint done in the next week. You put in way too much time and hard work for that to be one weeks worth of work. Good looks on Pm'ing me that website I had asked you for...I got something going with them hopefully as well. Were you given any special instructions on how to clean and take care of the paint under the hood?

Once again...your shit is looking mighty good...

nope, hopefully the shop sprays enough clear on it, to give it that shine. i clean mine like once a week or two, detailing spray and a micro fiber towel. two minutes and you're done. i had mine done a while ago and its holding up great. looks new still.

Yalls engine bays look awesome! How did you guys paint your engine cover? Did you prime, paint, and clear? Sand down the surface first? What kind of paint?

You could say that about anything aftermarket wise someone does to their car.

I guess I should stop saving for new wheels since my car isn't a show car
