TL camaraderie....

Do any other TL owners wave hi or do something to acknowledge you or other TL owners while on the streets?

I don't see it so much....

depends on who the other person is. I can't spend my whole day waving at the other millions of TL on the road owned by 53 year old radio legends and other old people.

Not much at all. I remember much more acknowledgment with my past cars that were somewhat common like the TL: VW Scrirocco, Toyota Supra, and even Honda Prelude.
But in those times my car was my most expensive possession and it was more important to me than a car is now.

I like cycling the parking lights as a kind of 'wink' to a TL that faces mine at a traffic light. I tried that a couple of times but it failed any acknowledgment and I stopped doing that. I actually get more acknowledgment from the TSX drivers these days and exchange smiles with them far more often.

If they are around my age and are looking in my direction then yea I give a deuces up to them. But most of the time I see alot of older people driving tl's. They should really be in a rl instead.

As good of a car the TL is, it isn't a car that's particularly niche. All kinds of people buy this car, which is a great thing, but very little of them are car enthusiasts who actually care for their cars as much as we do. So chances are most people won't even notice you're in a similar car.

Compare this to Corvette drivers, who even have their own special wave!

I'm sure modified TLs, or modified cars of any other sort would wave to one another, but otherwise, not so much.

I try to acknowledge the Type-S drivers since I assume they are car enthusiasts.

Everytime I see another TL I either honk or wave and nod and I usually get a wave back 20% of the time and a weird look or no acknowledgement 80% but it because of the small 20% that I do not stop and will continue

I've never experienced any kind of response from other TL owners. When I'm in my S2000 though, whenever another S2000 owner sees me, they really go out of their way to make it known. I guess it's a bit different because the TL as someone already mentioned, is more common and people who drive one are more likely than not, not big time enthusiasts like the majority of us here.

My co-worker has a Jeep Wrangler and gets waves, smiles, thumbs-up etc. when we are making a lunch run. I wish TL drivers could at least give somewhat of a nod LOL.

I can remember one time earlier this spring I was driving down the main drag in my suburb and a guy (mid 30s) was coming in the opposite direction in an 07-08 CBP base and waved. Felt pretty cool.

Only other time I've seen some love is coming out to my car after going out to eat with an ABP TL with A-Spec rims parked next to me. TLs are common place around here, mostly driven by women. I think there's like 5 other 3G TLs in my neighborhood alone.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are in a car, not like a bike. Bikers get to chat next to one another. A lot of haters out there hating on your ride. But there's always a meet if you wanna chat it up with your fellow TLer's.

I give the deuces to modded ones.
Otherwise it's older people that don't realize my car is a TL.

No clue. Maybe because mine sounds better than theirs does. ATLP ftw

If I see a modded Acura in general I'll give them "the nod". I had a guy in a slammed RSX-S come out of nowhere on the interstate a week or two back. He took a picture of my custom plate, gave me the thumbs up, and roared off

I always wonder this as well....I rarely run into any younger drivers out here on the east end of Long Island. I try to judge the situation, if I see the driver looking in my direction, I'll throw up a deuce to them.

I came across a guy once in a nice Type-S that gave me an upside down deuce, meant to to look like the 'A' Acura symbol...I've thrown that around a few times since then. I vote for that as a general acknowledgment for Acura drivers!

No not really, only happened maybe twice in the two years I've owned TL-S. One of those times it was from someone in a riced out Integra, the other from a fellow S owner.
Now my girl on the other hand gets waves all the time from people in their Fits???

Someone on this forum once said that the DC area is "TL city" because there are so many of them around here. The only time I've ever had another TL owner acknowledge me was when another NBP owner parked next to me and said, "Hey, nice car," but it turned out he had the 5AT (mine is, of course, 6MT). The TL is just too common and is viewed as just a car by most owners.

In my experience, you only get waved at if you're driving an unusual car or a car that has BECOME unusual due to age. (I suppose the Corvette is neither, but it's an "enthusiast's car." The Mini Cooper and the S2000 probably fall into the same camp. You don't buy those cars as "just transportation.") When I drive my RX-7 (a 1988), in the rare event I see another one we almost always acknowledge each other. Same applies if I drive my brother's 1974 Beetle, a car that was definitely all over the place 30 years ago but has become quite scarce recently.

a few of my friends have jeeps, they all know about the "jeep wave".

as far as TL's, in my area, not so much. i've seen plenty of base TL's roaming the streets, all driven by women or older guys that couldn't care less. i've only seen a few type-s', stock...and maybe 1 slightly modded one. i've tried the wave...but nothing.

I got waves all the time in my WRX and complete stop and stares in my STi...but never in my TL. Like someone said before it's a pretty common car...even the TL-S around here. It's mostly middle-agers and soccer moms driving them.

No, its not like its a rare car or enthusiast car like a Lotus or 911. There are a lot around and it seems most driven by older people.

I mostly flash my lights to other forum members whom I have me at meets when I see them out in public. Otherwise, I play punch buggy with my girlfriend whenever we see any generation TLs.

3Gs not so much, but TSX's and 2G TL's yes. Like many, the TL is a 50 something ladies car in my area and most hold the wheel at 10 and 2 and drive 5mph under looking straight ahead. Its the kids with the older/cheaper Acura's that give me any notice.

OK, so then-in a parking lot, do you park next to another TL, just because it would look cool (and maybe do an inpromptu photo shoot)?

Not so much where im from, they usually are older pretentious A-holes round my area. I get out in my uniform and get funny looks. Im in the army, i guess they figure a soldier cant afford one. But they are wrong......lol

I bought mine when i got back from iraq as a present to myself, I dropped my reenlistment bonus on mine. And if your wondering, depending on yor MOS "job" it can be 15 to 20,000.

^Hell yea! I park next to another one whenever I can. I do that mostly to look at the differences between the two and tell myself I don't need to add anything else to my car to make it different. It doesn't really work though

I park far away too. If another TL parks next to me, I know they care about their car.
