I thought they were kinda' quick?

He does a U-turn in the city and gets right up on me, at which point the V1 starts going nuts on Ka with an arrow to the rear, but then filters and dismisses it as bogus with the "J" signal (cheap RD's tend to do that I guess and I'm guessing he had a Cobra). He then pulls up next to me and starts ripping away from the red lights. I roll down the window at the next light and ask if it's an AP1 or 2 and he says it's an AP2 with intake and exhaust and is "very fast". I tell him it's nice and roll up and head on my way when the light turns green. Of course he follows me to the highway and wants to run from a 5mph roll because he has a new clutch. With no traffic in sight, who am I to deny him?

So.....5-85 mph I pull a solid six cars and let off.

He wants to go again from 50, so I drop into second and wait for the honks. This time I pull maybe 4-5 cars to 110. He then decides to hang his head, flash his headlights and take the next exit.

He did have a passenger with him, but still, it was a run away. I thought it would be pretty close.

Lol you're a beat bro, this is why I want a 3G, but with my low income, I'll stick with making my 2G to put down numbers of a 3G either way great kill lol.

Still, respect for the S2K awesome driver.

Nice kill! I've always wanted to go head to head with an S2K. I thought it would've been closer too maybe he had a new clutch cuz he was a pooper at stick hahaha. Anything within the realm of 4 cars is a rape in my book

I thought the race would have been closer.from the 50MPH roll. Sounds like the S2K needed a driver mod! Good kill! Of course at 5MPH we know that the S2K really isn't making any power. He walked into that beating! Great kills!!

at being "very fast" and getting raped.

From my experience with the V1, the "J" with the Ka or K is when the cops shoot their laser on and off. So you need to watch out for that "J".

There is some confusion between the J programming and J alert. I believe the programming is different on some of the earlier software versions. In the 6 months I've had mine, I've gotten the J signal three times and each time there was a car with a detector close by.

I love that damn detector. It is a little annoying at times, but it's true what they say about the arrows. And the sensitivity is absolutely sick. I was on the NYS thruway Friday and picked up Ka from a trooper coming from the other direction at least 40 seconds before seeing him, and there was a decent size rise between us as well. Since we were both doing ~75 mph, I starting picking him up from over a mile and a half away.

I agree, i love the V1 detector and with the arrows, it is well worth the price. Many times i picked up signals from almost a mile ahead. Can't get any better than that.

When ever i see a "J" come up, there's almost a cop on the side of the road. I am guessing he shoots at cars with bursts so that's why the detector is sensing the laser turning on and off, hence the "J" pops up.

s2k's are pretty slow unless they have boost or heads. i beat em all the time. them along with with rx-8's are fairly common around here and they always want to go.

I have seen 13.9@101MPH for a stock S2K however you need to be a great driver to pull that off plus put a hurting on your clutch too!

i don't think that a 13.9 is slow but I agree that you can't make them any faster without FI. Plus most people can't come near the 13.9 so I guess in that case I do agree that they can be slow depending on the driver. Do you drive a TL-S?

hmm. when i had my 3G 6MT, i race one from 70-125ish and i barely pulled on the guy. he did have intake and exhaust. i had a passenger with crap all over his pants.

he did have his top down, if it were up he prob would have beat me.

n yeah, dudes dumb for going from a 5mph. hes better off launching it. he did walk into that one.

not sure how much power youre putting down but, it should have been a lot closer. ive raced many cars now, that i raced with the TL in the past in ive gotten bout the same results.

im stock, so was my tl

Probably ~25 over stock. I'd guess mid/upper 240's.

I'm sorry to burst your(and everyone else's) bubble, but there's no way you put 4 cars on a I/E AP2. I've raced many over the past 6 years or so with various cars(my TL being the slowest of most of these) and it's just not in the cards for a bolted TL to destroy an AP2 like that. He either kept missing gears or there was something wrong with his car. Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to say the S2K is a super fast car, I used to destroy them with my turbo miata but our cars just aren't fast enough to genuinely do what happened to you unless something was wrong on his end.

Sorry :/

I doubt he was missing any gears, or else he would've come back for a third shot.

After doing a little research, I've found a lot of S2000's only trapping around 97 mph, so compared to a 100 mph car, it's not inconceivable what happened. Also keep in mind he had a passenger and possibly a full tank of gas, compared to just me in my car, with less than 1/8 tank. An extra 225 lbs can add 3-4 tenths to your et.

arent most 6mt guys trapping 97-98 also. a good driver in the s2000 can also trap 100.

either way, you won.

after purchasing the S2000 my initial though was it felt slower in most levels. after daily driving it for almost 1yr. ive learned how n where this car moves.

I think the stock ones are around 98. I've trapped 100. For reference, I have played with a bone stock 6MT TL and that was much closer. I pulled only about a car length from 40-85 ish.
