Lightbulb Tire Pressure

As you have read in the manual the recommended pressure for driving at more than 118mph is 39FR/35RR. I hadn't tried it because I thought it might make the ride too harsh. Good news, it doesn't. Handling and steering become razor sharp. I was expiriencing a slight pull to the left which I thought might be related to alignment, no, just the tire pressures were not equal pumped the fronts to 39, problem solved! Some people have said the tires get a little loose on hard corners, solved too! I have to wonder how it may affect wet and snow traction, I'll let you know. I recommend you try this setting and let us know how you feel about it. :wow: :wow: :wow:

Actually, I run the MT air pressures (35/32 f/r) vs the AT 32/32 and found it much better in the twisties.

On my 96 maxima with 235/45-17 AVS Sports, I ran 37 front, 30 rear (in order to get the max contact patch), but that car was 3000lbs or less with the MT so the pressures are not needed as high (stock 15" tires were supposed to be 33/32 f/r)

Be careful with those high tire pressures. I ran about 38psi in my maxima and wound up wearing down the centers of the tires very quickly. I wasn't very happy when I had about 75% tread on the outside of the tires and the center is completely bald.

Thanks, I ran those for 4 years, 17K miles and the were fine (17K for a tire with a 140 rating is great). It was a plus 2 conversion, and actually Yokohama recomended that pressure for the fronts for my car, guess they were right. Now I have the TL, gone is the Max it was a fun car with the stick!
