Tinting and FormulaOne

So i'm definitely going to get my windows tinted. I already have an appointment set up for next Tues. with FormulaOne. Has anyone here used FormulaOne to tint their 05TLs? I was asking because i was on the website and if i were to pick a series/tint to go with it would be the new one they have out... Pinnacle Series. It supposedly is the best as far as all the car electronics that are included with our TLs. So has anyone used this particular tint? If so how did it work out?

I've seen tons of threads on tint, and F1 is very popular and comes highly recommended...Pinnacle is supposed to be the best with navi as it's ceramic...I'm sure you'll read all about this in what you found. I think most folks here use F1, Llumar, Solarguard (or something like that), and Huper Optik (sp?).

Looking at F1 myself, just trying to figure out % and type (Premier or Ultimate - I don't have navi)...good luck and be sure to post pics...oh yeah, according to F1's site, the only F1 dealers are in the Triad area...not sure where you are, but that's a bit of a drive just for tint for me...

I have F1 Ultimate 20% w/ Nav and have 0 (read none) problems.

Tint is great .. installer did a nice job.

My only complaint was that he left the edge on my quarters clear. He won't fix it as he says its computer cut and he won't fool with it, and he's the only F1 installer around. Other than the lip I am really pleased with his work and the quality of the tint .....

And oh by the way ... get the moleskin!

So chill_dog if you don't have Navi and you're deciding between the Ultimate or Premier, i definitely suggest that you go with the Ultimate. This is what i had on my 01 CL-S before i got rid of it to get my TL. You'll love it. It has a "smoked" look to it and i got the 35% by it being the legal limit. As i said it was great. I also recommend it because when i talked w/ my F1 here they were saying that the Pinnacle and the Ultimate were pretty much similiar. However, it gives a lil more heat and glare reduction, etc... It's also a lil bit darker than the Ultimate but not by much. If it weren't for my Navi and the XM i would definitely go with the Ultimate again, however, i guess i won't have no choice but to go with the Pinnacle. From what F1 was telling me, it's an awesome tint! Plus by me being a repeat customer i get a discount also. Pretty cool

Yea, you can get the moleskin kit from flnsx. Here's the site: http://members.aol.com/setecsolutions/mole.html

thanks guys. How long should it take for me to receive it if i make the order first thing in the morning? I'm assuming i should definitely have it by Tues. 8/9 when i go for my window tinting correct? And also if i provide the kit for them, F1 should be able to take care of that also right? They mentioned about this, however, they were saying it would cost like $45 per window to apply the moleskin. Is this correct?

$45 per door is kinda steep considering you're supplying the material. DIY and besides the kit from flnsx includes detailed instructions.

It took about 3 weeks to get mine, long after I had the tint done. For $50 I got the installer's "no matter what we'll replace it" warranty. I didn't bother with the moleskin when it showed up, I figure if my tint scratches I'll get it replaced for free and put the moleskin on then. $45/window is insane though, you can do it very easily yourself (instructions are included). If you're not mechanically inclined then $45 for them to do all the windows would be more reasonable.

Ok thanks a lot Lance for the info. I'll see what they say about it. Because i'm definitely not gonna pay the 45 per window. Like you said i'll either pay $50 for that full warranty or $45 for all the windows.!!!
