Tinting the 04 TL
I am lucky enough to live near a FormulaOne installer, so I will probably just go with Pinnicle tint since I have a Navi.
However, for some of you having issues, here is one possible solution.
M&M Tinting in Escondido, CA has a web site called http://www.doityourselftint.com/
They have computer pre-cut tint kits that include a tool kit, step by step instructions, and instructional vhs video.
They use 3M film. It says they use metalized, so if you have Navi, you may want to call ahead and inquire if the carry the 3M film below and can cut it for you instead (at least for the rear window):
3M™ Scotchtint™ Color-Stable Automotive Window Films SP
3M is a leader in creating technologically-advanced window films. Our latest achievement is the creation of premium auto window films that hold their color, are high heat rejecting and don't interfere with your satellite signals. No purple windows. Guaranteed! Look for the 3M print mark. It's your assurance of authenticity.
Additional Information
3M developed a patented technology for producing window film that incorporates a unique process not found in conventional films. Never before has anyone done this. In fact, it's so advanced that in time-based tests, 3M Scotchtint Color-Stable Auto Film held its color while most conventional dyed films rapidly changed to a purple color. High heat rejection without the interference of metals and a true low reflective factory-tinted look. No purple windows. Guaranteed! The 3M print mark is your assurance of authenticity. You know that your car features authentic 3M Scotchtint Color-Stable Auto Film when you see the 3M print mark on the window itself.
