dbodik:

where did you go in LI and how much did they ask for? if you dont mind.

i lease my cars and had my last car tinted, then ripped it off when i returned the car. i want to tint my tl, but dont want to go thru the hassle of installing the felt. but $30 extra isnt that bad.

i guess if the felt has to be done, then i'll pass on the tints. there's no other quick fix solution. did they take your door panel off to install the felt?

Felt helps prevent scratches. Some tinters will install it and some won't, claiming that its the auto manufacturer's responsibilty.

whats lumar film?
Llumar is a brand of film made by CPFilms.

and can all kinds of aftermarket tint be removed and if no which kind can be?
Film that been applied to glass can be removed. http://www.tintdude.com/remove.html

Are you certain about this? I was ticketed last year in my Vette for 35% on the driver and passenger doors. Elected to pay the fine, instead of removing it...

Actually, I doubt about this, too. Years ago, we never tinted our driver side window in LA... 'cause we didn't want to risk ourselves to get more trouble from cops.

Is it changed now?

I had it done at the tinting plcae next to the Acura of Smithtown. I paid total $190 including felt. Door panels have to be taken off to do that, but it's only 3 screws per panel and it comes off and goes back on really easy.

Sounds good to me. Smithtown, 50% Lumar film, $190, felt installed... Should we mention your name...

You can mention my name if you want to, but I think it's their set price.

Dbodik:

You had to order the felt yourself first right? Tint shops doesn't usually carry that stuff. I saw a thread saying that the felt is like $17.00.

Installation for $190 w/ felt is a pretty decent deal! Usually you can get it for like $150 w/o the extra felt installation, so $190 is about right.

What exit is Smithtown on the LIE?

Thanks for the information.

Rkilian:
How mush were those wheels and tires?

They look great.
They would look nice on silver.
People have recommended getting the one piece knockoffs because I live in the northeast and will probably have to replace a few.
Let me know..
Thanks
Michael

Second Question:
All of the wheel web sites do not list the SSR- GT1 as possible fit for Acura TL 04.
Is this correct?

Where is this place? I was there yesterday and did not see any window tinting place, only auto repair & body shops. I'd appreciate more info.

Thanks
