Tint shop recommendations for Northwest Philly suburbs
Just purchased an '04 TL and I want to get it tinted, but the Montgomeryville Acura dealer does not perform tinting.
Any suggestions for other shops in the Montgomeryville or northern Philly area?
Thanks in advance.

i heard car pretty in northeast philly at grant and bustleton ave does a good job
i got mine done at good vibrations in horsham at easton and blair mill road. its expensive but they did a good job and you dont even have to install felt on the windows.

Excellent leads, thanks. I pass by Good Vibrations every day to/from work, so I'll call them up.
I forgot to ask earlier, but what should I expect for cost $$? I got my '04 Accord tinted at a Honda dealer and I believe it ran me around $300. Should I expect the same?

does your car have navi? if it does, expect to pay $300 + tax since youll need ceramic rather than metallic tint. i have navi so i paid that much but dont know how much the metallic tint costs

No navi on my TL. And I got a quote for $260 for the metallic tint.
What's the legal max for tint in PA?
And could anyone clear up some confusion on percentages? When someone says they get a 30% tint, does that mean it lets in 30% of the light, or 70% of the light? I just need a little clarification on that.
Thanks.

I had mine done at Car Pretty for a good price. They didn't tint under the rear side quarter windows or under the rear brake light so you may want to discuss that with them. I went with their 30% Llumar ATR Charcoal and love it. No probs with driving at night or the cops. I'll install my moleskin felt soon to prevent scratches. I heard they moved from the Grant and Bustleton location btw.

car pretty did mine, I had a good experience. single piece for the rear window. They did a good job on the quarter panel window. they told me that i didn;t need moleskin and they said that moleskin traps dirt and makes scratches anyway.. i have light scratches on my window. I would still go back..

when someone says 30% tint, it means 30% of the light comes in and 70% is blocked out.
also $260 for metallic seems a little expensive. i woulda expected somewhere in the upper $100s from good vibrations. u might be better off going to car pretty but i dont know if they will guarantee their work.
