Tint and Moleskin Updates
some time ago a member asked if the moleskin glue will become non-effective in the cold (under 30F) and come off the wipes.
today i had to remove the wipes (again) in preperation for new tint. it seems the colder it is outside the less sticky the moleskin adhesive is. it was around 50F when i took the wipes out. good news though, after careful inspection, it looks like there will be enough holding force in cold weather to keep the felt stuck onto the wipes.
as for tint, i peeled off my back window myself with no steamer. it peels ok until the film layers start to seperate. the "tint" layer will seperate from the adhesive layer (adhesive is a layer of film on it's own). then peeling the adhesive layer is tricky and will leave adhesive all over. my tinter will be happy i remove the film saving him time tomorrow. he'll get the glue off with some cleaner.
don't be fooled, the TL quarters can be tinted all the way up to the edge all the way around, and under the 3rd brake light. any tinter who says they can't do that should not tint your TL.
hope this info is useful.
cheers
