Timing belt and water pump change HELP please
Hello all ,
Just ordered my timing belt kit from rock auto for my 2008 TL Type S and I am going to try and give it a go as a DIY!
I have found some write ups and have read them but the only thing I am looking for help with is setting/ positioning timing marks for the gears and the lower crank pulley. I am still not clear on that part .
Can anyone help me with that , possible with some pictures or clarification as to the procedure of setting the timing .
I have also order the TL 3 Gen service manual off ebay hoping that will help in making it more clear.
I am confident I can do all the other items just would like more info for ideas on the setting the timing .
Anyone know if someone doing a Video of there Timing belt and water pump job? I would like to see that if there one.
Lastly can you post a link for the information on that special socket I Will need for removing the power crank pulley.
Well thanks for your help in advance.

If you have not already, type "3g TL garage" in the search bar and select it when it loads. One of the items in it is a fantastic DIY that has many pictures and replies. I also found a new video on Youtube a few days ago that shows the timing belt replacement process on a 2004 TL. These should only be used as a general guide of course. Type in "2004 Acura TL timing belt" and it should be the first one. It only has 205 views but was a good watch. There is also another great one underneath it. I believe the second video shows more technical information in regards to what you were asking about (crankshaft pulley tool) concerning the J-series engine. They are by "Zuhri Lofty" and "Bundy'sGarage."

Mark the old belt, cam gears and crank before you remove it. Then match the teeth on the new belt and mark the same teeth. Check it twice. Then install the new belt matching it to the gear markings. There is a video of this on youtube.
