Time for an upgrade?

Time for an upgrade?
Hey. So I have an 05 TL Automatic and it's going to be paid off in a couple months. I can tell that my car is getting a little older these days. I've had it since 06 and its getting like new rattles and subtle vibrations and what not. Anyway, I'm wanting to upgrade to new vehicle this year and I've really been thinking I wanted something bigger, like maaaybe a jeep grand cherokee. I've had a Honda product for so long now and I just can't believe I'm even considering a chrysler product. So, I've never been too fond of the new generation TL's, but...I'm taking another look at them just to make sure I don't want another one of these, since I still like mine so much and my local Acura dealer keeps sending me these relatively sweet offers in the mail. I read somewhere that for 2012 the TL will have a less pronounced grill, seeing as though it wasn't received well by the public and have a beefier engine. I guess my question is, should I just upgrade to the 2012 TL, maybe go with a 2011 later on, go with the new jeep gr. cher.--cus they do look really good and I would make it look even better...I think, or maybe just keep what I have for a couple more years? Would would you do?? Please help haha. Thanks so much for any suggestions.

99% of the people here will tell you to keep it. I'm one of them.
Not having a car payment should be pretty great. Think about having an extra $300 or $500 or whatever per month. I bet that could fix a whole lot of rattles.
If you're getting bored with your car, do something to keep it fresh. You look like you could use some suspension mods, or an Aspec kit. It'll make you fall in love with your car all over again.
Keep the car for a while longer. My

I would suggest you decide after you have this car paid off. Try going a few months without having a car payment. I would also suggest each month after that taking what would have been the payment and putting into a savings account.

I would say, like others have mentioned above to keep it. Maybe do other mods in case you were getting bored with it. Im sure that extra money in your pocket can be put to good use.

as much as a new car is appealing, think about what you could do with no more car payments. you could have more money for vacations, or a girlfriend/wife, friends, etc.
if you are really bored with the car, consider Type-S/Aspec kits, supercharging, coilovers, BBK, etc. the possibilities are endless.

The Jeeps are nice but do you need one? Your car looks nice and could very well hold up better than a brand new Jeep- especially after one year. You'll also want to compare how much extra you would pay for insurance.

Car looks nice i would only suggest to get the Aspec kit and maybe a drop and if power your looking for i have seen here a supercharged one (which i would love to get one). I myself have my car paid off and its great! Keep it onces its paid off and if by the time the 2012 comes out and you like it then make the decision at that time.

I would hold on to your TL you have now or look into the new TL. I agree that the new JEEP looks nice but the re sale value of any chrysler SUCKS! and if you think your car has some rattles, the jeep will have the same within 2-3 years. I have always hated the lack of quality of domestic vehicles. feel the leather in your TL and then in a new Jeep and i bet your 6 year old leather will feel better. Good Luck

With the price of gas continuing to go up, you still want to get into a Jeep? Do some aesthetic mods and you'll look at your car in a new light. Like the others have said, keep your car and use that extra money you had sent to the bank and invest it in a high yield savings account/IRA. Then use that money to buy the car YOU want in cash.

When you've paid off your car use that money to invest. Your car is not old and should last you many more years to come as long as you take care of it. I haven't had a car payment since '01 and it's nice to be car payment free.

I have an 07 TL and it paid off last year. It is very hard for me also because i still love my TL. I am having another baby coming up soon, still struggle making decision right now. But to the ops if you like it keep it, if you're bored at it ,let it go . For me i wanna keep it any day. Still undecide what to do...

Thanks a lot for all of your suggestions. For now, I'm taking the advice and keeping it. I like the new jeeps, but I think after a few months of the jeep, I'd rather have a luxury car. I think its just more of who I am. I'm going to be paying close attention to the 2012 TL's, and if they blow me away...I'll get one. If not...eh, no car payment. I love Honda/Acura. That's virtually all I've ever owned, guess I'll stick with em.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
