For those with Injen In-takes

Did you remove all the piping for the stock system?

Did you remove the plastic part that blocks the left front inlet in the bumper where there air comes in. It already has a small whole at the top to let air in.

Anyone dynoed a A/T with the Injen yet?

Also, what is the rubber tube that plugs into the intake for? I think it is a bypass valve. Is it hooked up to a pressure valve or does it just expel gasses into the system....
What would happen if it was not hooked up?

Answer to my own question.

PCV VALVE

Definition: The Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve is an emissions control device that routes unburned crankcase blowby gases back into the intake manifold where they can be reburned. The PCV system is one of the oldest emission control devices, and also one of the most beneficial. Besides totally eliminating crankcase emissions as a source of air pollution, the constant recirculation of air through the crankcase helps remove moisture which otherwise would cause sludge to form. Thus the PCV valve extends the life of the oil and engine. The PCV valve requires little maintenance. The valve and filter should be replaced somewhere around 30,000 to 50,000 miles (see the vehicle owners manual for service intervals).

I can't confirm it because I have no links to provide. But, back when I bought my Injen (March or so) there were two available. One with the PCV and one without. Maybe someone else can provide more details. What you want is the Injen RD1482 model. I doubt you will find it under $200 new.

INJEN posted the dyno on their web site and it had some numbers that confused me a little, it said that the stock TL was putting 202.3 HP to the wheels and only 182.5 lbs-ft of torque a whopping 66.7 hp. drop and a 55.5 lbs-ft drop from what the TL is said to have ??????????????WHY SO MUCH?????????????. Injen did accomplish an 11.4 hp and 3.5 lbs-ft increase. During instalation as i pulled out the 5ft of tubing for the stock intake system I took the liberty to make the hole in the front bumper for the stock cold air intake LARGER so at higher speeds it acts more like a ram air system.

Did you take pics? I’m curious to see the larger hole.

that injen dyno looks a litttle suspicous. the TOV dyno had the 5AT TL at 212 and the 6MT at 222(this figure could be higher because it was a relatively brand new engine). the injen dyno has way less than what the stock dynos at. the AEM dynos are consistent with the TOV dyno. i know that dynos vary depending on condition and equipment but it just seems to be off by too much. i would like to know what the actual difference is with the injen intake. my suspision is that there is going to be little improvement.

take the positive battery wire out before installation so the ecu will recognizes it and no check engine will come on.
I took every stock intake pipe out exc. the air holes pipes.
