Thinking of trading '04 TL for '06

For personal reasons I'm thinking about getting rid of my current TL, which I've had for almost three years. However, I still like it so I want to get another one. I owe $12k on the '04, so with current trade-in prices (only 24k miles on my '04) I'd need to pay about $20k for the '06.

Financially it doesn't seem too bad. Are there any other considerations (e.g. build quality, power, subtle styling changes I might not like) I should think of?

Thanks!

I would be thinking of the 2007, but that obviously wouldn't garnish the same deal$ as an 06.. Not near enough change from an 04 to an 06 other than that new car smell. Plus, it still doesn't sound like many of the "bugs" found in the 04 have been remedied by/in the 06... Though this could also be the case for the 07 sadly.

I would wait for the '07 as well. I bought an '06 in June. I have 2,200 miles

now. No bugs/rattles yet . But the new '07 has some upgrades. '04-'06

are the same except for the TMPS; correct me if I am wrong.

20k for the same car???? that would hurt your finanical abilites badly even though you can handle it. That would just be wasting money that you can use to mod ur current TL. I would wait for the 2007 or even the 09 TL. I an pretty happy with my TL even though it has been totaled once.

If you do decide to go with a newer TL be aware of a significant change from model year 2006 to 2007. They will not be offering the standard TL in 6MT for 2007. The only version of the '07 TL that has manual will be the S-Type at about $5K more than the standard TL version.

SOOOO..... if you are serious about updating your wheels to a very similar package as your 2004 with an MT you better act fast to locate a remaining 2006 model.
