Thinking of getting A-spec suspension.. need opinions

So, it'd help me greatly if those of you who've owned, or driven extensively the Type S models of late could comment on how you like your A-spec suspension and how harsh it is around town, uneven roads, highways, and most importantly the overall ride quality -- does it bug you how harsh it is, or do you love it?

I imagine this could evoke some very biased responses, but I wanna hear them all, thanks in advance.

I'm going to go with just the kit, comptech springs, 18inch light weight rims with brembos!

How soon you going to do this? I'd appreciate a detailed review when you're up to it... last time I had Comptech Springs... i hated them so much i couldn't sleep for two days... had them removed two days after i installed them.

the CT springs increased road noise significantly... the ride was too harsh... especially for city streets. I didn't particularly care for the amount of drop it created... a little too low for such a beautiful car (TL)... It handled and performed as expected, however -- awesome!! but i just couldn't stand it...

That'd be really cool if you're up for it... I'm in Schaumburg frequently... Lemme know, I'll PM you in a couple weeks and check on the status of your CTs... Thanks!

If you were visiting Cleveland, I'd help you out by letting you experience the ride with the A-Spec suspension. There's really no good way to describe the ride in words. I kept the 17" wheels and my Falken tires because around here the more sidewall, the better . As I posted in my extensive review, the ride is really not bad at all other than feeling the bumps a little more. It is certainly not as jarring as you describe your prior experience with Comptechs.

Ha, neuronbob, I do like to test-drive your new setup... I should be Cleveland around 7/10 or 7/11... if I could follow my schedule to drive...

We have the same tires, it will be the easy comparison to me...

I'm happy to help. PM me when the time is closer. I'll find some suitably ruined pavement for you.

PeterUbers,

Awesome. And please lets us all know how you like the A-spec suspension. I am also on the fence now. I'll probably hold off until next year so I can enjoy the smoother ride for now. I had Eibachs in my Camry with Tokicos which were slightly more rough than the current TL. If the A-spec was like my previous setup, I am all for it.

PeterUbers,

Yup. I read neuronbob's review and thought it was extremely concise and answered quite a few questions I had in the back of my mind. I trust his opinion but would like to get another perspective. I am sure we all appreciate your write up to come. I'll keep an eye out for it.
