Thinking of getting another TL
I sold my 04 6-Speed a couple of years ago, and now I found out that since I was with Honda Financial, they'll give me another loan. So, I'm looking at a 2006, Black/Grey, Auto, No-Nav, 870 Miles and they want $29,900. It seems like a great deal because I'm paying $390 (36/mo left) on my 2000 4Runner with a 20% interest rate and they are offering 7%. Although I only owe $9000 on the 4Runner. How much should I be paying for the car described? Is $29k too much? They are going to let me know today if I can get approved. Having a TL before, I'd like to still have a 6-Speed and Navi, but I know that's a difficult combo. Also the 870 miles is really a great selling point!
Thanks!

That price seems a scosche high, because it's a last year's model and it has no navigation...and it's a stick. I got my 2006 brand new with navigation October 2006 for $34K out the door; before out the door it was $31K. That's only about $2K more than what you're being offered right now for a used vehicle (although the mileage is very low), and yours has a stick and no navigation, both of which bring resale value down.
Just some things to think about. My guess is they could come down at least a little.

if you're paying 20% on one of your other car loan that means you have a bad credit, or you have been had up in the ***, pardon my language.
when buying a car with bad credit, 99% of time you cant have both a good price and a good interest rate, they will get you one way or the other..may lower loan rate but jack up the price.
I would probably not pay more than 26.5K +tt for that 06 non-NAV TL you described...it is not worth 30K.

With that being said, how close can I come to 30k on a new one?
If you're going through Honda Financial that's a decent price, I did the same and we paid $34,000 for the same car no navi, A/T, 2006, but it was brand new. Not saying this was a good deal, but it gives you a benchmark for the kind of deal you're getting, I got it on October 2006.
If you end up paying $29,900 total it's a good deal.

Still, the price seems high given it's used and doesn't have navigation...it even has a dated outer appearance due to MMC for 2007.

a) dont think of this as a of hating, but look, just two years ago you jumped heavily into car payments, and had struggled with that. Looks like your financial situation is not the best, so why put up yourself for more burden? Look, if you still have 2 +years worth of payments on a 7-year old truck, why not try to refinance it now for a lower rate, put excess cash in pay it off sooner? Dude, you still got the Beemer..everyone who drives an Acura want the Beemer..you dont need a TL....especially w/o NAVI.
b) RL tend to depreciate faster than TL thats why you can get a 45K RL for 31K only 2 years later.
To blazinginder: good luck finding the 2006 TL for 25K with under 80K miles. 25K can get you a nice used 2005TL with close to 50K mi.
