OK, I used to have an '04 A/T which I really liked although it had a lot of pesky rattles and issues w/ the seat leather. All in all, I probably have a reasonable idea of what I'm getting into. I'm thinking about an '08 A/T (or an '08 VW GTI DSG) and wondered what changed in the 4+ model years? Have they fixed the auto tranny issues? what's better / worse?

well the 08 base is basically the same car as the 04 - 06. things that have changed are for the non navi, the thing where the cd is displayed, is a larger screen. the navi models obviously have a more updated navi compared to the 04 - 06 ... the stiching on the seat has one more stitch on it compared to the 04 model ... the gauge cluster has silver trim which makes it look a little different ... rattles are still there, and the rims are a little different. those are the things i can recall off the top of my head
