Thinking about buying a '08 TL

Hey guys,
I am in the market for a car and a tl is one of my options. I was looking around and saw a few for around $22k with under 30k miles. However I wanted to know if the people that already have the car would recommend buying it. Also if there are any lingering issues with the 08 tl. Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

I picked up a 2008 TL with 72K miles on it back in May. So far I've driven about 20K miles. I would definitely recommend the TL. It is a very solid car. Fun to drive and maintenance on it has been very affordable so far. And IMO one of the best looking performance sedans out on the road today.

I will also say that this forum is a fountain of info on these cars.

You will notice a couple things:
  • Leather seats are not the best in the "Premium" car market.
  • Lugging feeling at about 1500-1800 RPM in 5th gear. Kind of annoying vibration you will feel at that range. Usually around 40-45 mph. I'm gotten used to it.
  • Tires are tough to keep balanced. This one is a big issue for me. I recommend getting your tires at a place that does lifetime balancing.
  • Some people complain about excessive rattles. I have not really heard any with my car.
  • Sub woofer not the best. Not really a big issue for me, but a lot of folks complained about it.

Other than the tire balancing and the lugging feel, any other sort of electrical issues I should be aware of? I dont want to have to be in the shop every week
Once I get it.

I just purchased an '08 at the beginning of this year with 50k miles and I don't think i've been tired of staring at/driving/washing it yet. Other than the lugging feeling raviNJCLs mentioned, I have not had a single issue with it yet. I'm sure this all depends on who and where you buy from. You should be able to get it a little lower than 22 since there were a lot that came off lease this year. GL, be patient and get one you won't regret.

I haven't noticed any electrical issues at all with mine. If it makes you feel better I would opt to spend a couple more for a CPO so you can take it back to the dealer to get issues resolved. I think Acura is pretty good about customer service.
