My mistake! For some reason i was thinking GS350 the whole time when it clearly said IS350...

i still rather have an IS300, or a GS 300, with the 2JZ motor, extremely easy to turbo, and god damn fucking smooth , one of very few cars i actually have to look at the tach to tell if it is even running

OP talk to your insurance, if you have receipts you could probably get compensated for the 105k service, considering how recent and expensive it was.

just has to be withen the last couple of months though

and i would say go for deprecation value also, but then again it would be against your own insurance, so i would not really even think about it (and you will eventually pay it all back anyways)

Both of these are wrong.
1. Insurance companies do not owe for mataintenance item (brakes, tires, timing service, ect). These are wearable parts and no matter if they were dont the day before the accident they dont add value to the vehicle. yes they might make is more wanted by other buyers it does not make the value go up.
2. I would say 90% of insurance companies have it stated right in the insurance policy that they DO NOT OWE FOR "DEPRECATION". Almost every car on the road has been in a accident, if this were something that was valid insurance companies would be out of business from paying people this stupid amount. It makes no sense what so ever.

1. it has to be within the last couple of months, like 6 months, no go (and yes a t/belt is a "wearable" item, but so is the engine if your really want to get technical, or a transmission too)

2. being it was own fault/single car, i would say he cannot go after his own insurance, especially if he doesn't wants his policy drop, but if anyother person's fault, it's fair game if you ask me (and here's one, after an accident with the wife's car, which was the other guy's fault, my own insurance actually told me how to go about it, to try and collect depreciation value (and the car was accident free before too)

and as far as "almost every" car has been in an accident, i can think of a couple that have 100k plus accident free miles, and like 1-2 that would be very close to 200k miles accident free, and will more then likely stay that way too

Im sorry to say, but it looks totaled to me. I had an older Accord and I had a Suburban hit me in the right rear a few years back. It looked about the same. I ended up buying the car back and fixing it, only for the same thing to happen again 6 months later. Do you think that you are going to try and fix it?
