i absolutely hate the switch blade. are we stuck with this or is there a alternative like getting the 06 key. i didn't search but think the chances are slim to none.

I'm pretty sure you could program and cut an 06 key to fit your needs. Unless you're willing to do a private sale/trade prepare to pay big bucks at the dealer, though. I hear some cut/program for free, but if they don't it'll be something like $120 for a new key, cut and programmed.

you should be able to put a regular key but its quite pricey luckily if you find the right lock smith it is much cheaper..center acura had quoted me 155 to cut and program a key a while back looked around found a mom and pop locksmith with the right equipment and they do it for 45 bucks since then i have got 2 more keys done and even a switchblade key and they always do a good job so just call around youll find something dont go to the stealership!!

you can have keys made that are not of the switchblade style. All you need is the 2004-2006 Acura TL remote (unlock/lock buttons) and you just need to ask the folks at the dealership to cut you a fully functional Valet key.
