Great thread!! I'm suprise so many of you don't see more men driving the TL. Here in NJ, I see a ton of guys driving 3G TLs in the majority in fact. The only women I see driving 3Gs are one that are white exterior. Any other color I've seen mostly guys behind the wheel.
Now the TSX is another story. I've seen primarily women behind the wheel of those.

Owned a white 07 TSX (auto of course) but recently just got it demolished in a serious rear end. Not much left after insurance paid it off but enough to pick up a clean 08 WDP TL-S (auto of course).
I'm not the only husband or boyfriend out there who hasn't pointed them in the direction of mods. Hopefully this small band of guys keep mod sales up for women owned Acuras.
She roles the TL-S instyle while I race around town in a 99 2dr AccordV6

i've got a couple a of minor mods...18" enkei's, AEM CAI, brakes...does a roof rack count? and yes i actually use it. my dealer was always initially surprised when i step out of my car (probably thinking that i'm bringing my BF's car in for him then realizing the car belongs to me and i actually know my car well). now they know me. yea i have a hobby that consumes much of my fun money...though an exhaust might be in my future and an aspec suspension. so i like high performance in my car too. i guess i have some brotherly influence when it comes to cars, he was the one he convinced me to get the 6MT.

I'm a female TL-S and former CL-S owner...both auto, yes, but I've done a few mods--tint, isimple, LEDs, painting/changing some trim pieces.
I have a couple more teeny ones to do that I found here, but as Label said, My personal maintenance will be paid for 1st!

I've seen a couple cars twinned to mine in town here - two of them driven by women. One I saw when the weather was better, was an 07-08 WDP/Beige Base model with light tints, SMOKING hot, tall blonde driving it.
The other is literally my car's twin, with one minor difference: lip spoiler. Otherwise, it's a WDP/Ebony base 07 5AT, Non-navi with tints (I think factory or dealer installed cause they're identical to mine).
This one is a pretty hot blonde also, curly hair, works at my gym. I don't mind at all that she drives the same car as me because it made sparking conversation with her a lot easier.
All the girls that have been in my car have liked it for some reason or other, and that's a plus for me, cause not everyone wants a ride on my R6, so having a sweet car that girls like is a plus. My previous cars included an Oldsmobile (in highschool), which girls did not particularly appreciate, a Jeep (same deal), a Benz, which attracted the wrong type of girls, and a Volvo S60R which most girls thought was my mom's car/didn't understand why I was driving.

makes you think...that just ain't right when you see way older women you don't expect to be behind the wheel of a type-S.

Heeltoe,
Nice article. Although I'm not sure about your claim that most TL owners are female. I know 5 other TL owners who all bought their TL brand new and only 1 was female. That's only 20% female in my limited sample size. I wonder what the actual statistic is. Acura probably has this statistic.
That said, I will agree that the woman from that group was exactly as you describe: she didn't know much about cars and had no interest in modding, but she loved her TL and meticulously took it to the dealer for everything and did whatever they told her. Her car would make for a great used vehicle purchase.

ha ha....sorry dude you're a little young for me. and you live too far away. heh heh.
to the OP...i'd say there are more women in the TSX. for the TL...i'd shift it to slightly more men than women. all the TLs in my neighborhood (none are modded), are driven by men in their 40's/50's. i'm the lone lady and i have light mods and i'm out every week washing the car. my neighbors must think i'm OCD about my car when i'm out there when its in the 30's outside freezing my butt off.

in and around san diego i see middle aged men and women driving the TLs. Maybe a bit more men than women, but not by much.
Being 22 I feel awesome in a TL, especially cause I work in down town SD I feel like I belong with all the business types.

I've seen a gorgeous brunette around her 20's driving an 04 anthracite tl in my country. At first i thought it was her boyfriends car but later noticed it was hers since she put a pink roxy sticker in the rear window.Kind of makes me think that it's cool to see women of our age driving tl's its another plus for acura and for men to see beautiful distractions in the same car they drive LOL. Not to mention some could also be better drivers than us guys.

Wait, am I the only one who thinks the claim that women are good about auto maintenance is more than a little laughable? I think most women, if they have had to choose due to budget constraints, would rather get their nails done than change their oil.
When I was a kid I used to work at a gas station part time and the number of women coming in with engine knock was alarming. They'd ask to me to check their oil, only because their boyfriend, husband, father, brother, pimp etc told them to. Often there would be nothing showing on the dipstick, and two quarts later it would barely register, if at all.
Then there's my neighbor who blew her Xterra engine because she knew nothing about the "timing belt service", my sister who thought brake lines never needed to be checked and found out the hard way that they can rust and break, the girl at work who put motor oil in her transmission. (Hey, she gets an "A" for effort). Or the one girl I kept seeing on my commute recently, who had no more than 20 lbs of air in her front left tire for several days straight. I finally caught her at a light and warned her. She then asked me if that was why her car kept feeling like it wanted to go in the ditch for the last two weeks.
And all this doesn't even touch the lack of regular washing, waxing, door dings, wheels that look like someone took a die grinder to them, etc.

'06 TL 5AT NAV Anthracite
I've seen plenty of males and females driving 3G TLs, but I'd say I seee more men in 3Gs than females. On the other hand I see many more females driving the TSX then males.
In my development there's a few 3G TLs. In addition to mine, my neighbor (male) has an '06 NBP NAVI 6MT. Another neighbor (female) has a TL-S 5AT. There's two others, but not sure of the drivers and if they're auto or not.
At work, my boss bought a '10 4G and in her words: She loves her car. I know of two other co-workers with 3G TLs. One thirtysomething female and one older (about 60) male.

i guess the upside of the TL and female drivers who have no clue...at least there is the maintenance minder and TPMS (at least on the later models). so the car won't be too neglected.
there are plenty of men out there that don't have a clue either, but yes i will agree that most women would rather spend the money on nails and hair. i'm happy to say i'm not necessarily one of those types of ladies. i'd rather spend my money on my hobbies, i got other ways of looking good .

Only friends I got that drive TLs are males and they don't even mod their cars. One of them is a forum member on here with like 2000 posts and haven't dropped any mods in.
