Have appointment on the 13th for evaluation of droning at highway speeds on my '04 with just over 20,000 miles. Service manager said they have parts in stock, but he was not too keen on just installing the kit. He said could be something else and could take several days to check everything. Also, headliner has now fallen down again after being OK for several months after liberal application of epoxy to all three velcro areas. Need some talking points to have both corrected without the service manager giving me a load of crap about normal sound for a '04 and doing my own repairs to the headliner. Have not been to the dealer since I had my tires replaced at 2,000 miles at my request. The service manager said old tires were OK, but would send them to Bridgestone for analysis just in case there was an issue. That was 18 months ago.

 

Had the damper kit installed yesterday, or at least they said they did. Also, had tires rotated. Still have the sound and it is worse. I think it may indeed be the tires--again!!! Calling today for another appointment. Was told headliner could not be repaired under warranty due to my attempted repair, but could repair the rattle I now have, but needed to order parts, including velcro strips!!!

 

I cannot believe that the tires are the problem here... not after they have replaced them... I have had tire issues but not like this.. good luck

 

Tires have about 19,000 on them since being replace in 2/04.
