Taking Delivery on an '05 Anthracite/Ebony tomorrow!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this board. I've been following for about two months (ever since I made the decision to go with the TL) and the information has been extremely helpful. I look forward to reading future threads and being part of the Acura family.

Anyway, my sales rep from Acura of Boston called last night to let me know that the car arrived and I can take delivery whenever (going on Friday afternoon...travelling for work right now ).

It's an '05 5AT Anthracite/Ebony with Nav. I'll be installing splash guards myself (they wanted to charge me $500 for that!) and I already have the all-season floor mats ready to go for these terrible Northeast winters.

Thanks again to everyone and keep up the great posts!

To chachi775;

Yes most definitely install the splash guards youself.. especially it they want $500 to do this simple 20-30 minute job. I put them on my '04 Anthracite/Ebony/6MT/Nav and they fit right in to the point that you will hardly even notice them. And they DO work, so you'll be happy you did this.

Enjoy your new machine!

I got my splash guards for free because they were already on the car I chose to buy at the dealership. They wanted to charge me somthing like $300 for the package including splash guards, wheel locks and trunk tray. I told them I didn't want this "optional" package.

So the dealer took out the trunk tray and they rest they "gave" me for free since it would cost them more for a tech to remove the splash guards and wheel locks.

Funny thing is I was actually ready to pay the $50 bucks for the wheel locks.. Funny how things sometimes work out....

Chachi,

I got a call from Acura of Boston yesterday as well ! They told me that my car was built (NBP/Ebony 6MT Navi) and should be deleivered shortly. I asked for VIN number and after some searching for the number, they told me that it was another car and my car should be built either on Wednesday or Thursday and they'd call me leter

Thanks guys. I am looking forward to finally getting into the driver seat.

Diver, who was your sales rep? I worked with Perry Wong. He was great. They were right on the nose with the timeline. He said the car was built last Tuesday and I would be able to take delivery by the 15th and lo and behold I'm picking it up tomorrow (the 15th).

Now I just need to figure out the best way to integrate my iPod. I'm wondering if I should wait to see if they come out with a link-up that integrates with the DVD-Nav or if I should just hardwire it. I would prefer not to hardwire it, because I have heard some horror stories of them taking the entire dash apart and I'm not so sure how comfortable I am with it. Decisions Decisions...

i dealt to Sam Davis - he's the guy who deals with all the email/internet inquiries. i ran some emails
between the dealerships first and then showed up to finalize the deal. then i talked to Joe (don't
remember his last name) and Melanie Simon did all the finance stuff for me. they gave me a pretty
good price (i came with very low quote from other dealership in first place) and they didn't
budge at all but it was positive experience overall.

enjoy your car !
