Taillights

I was browsing through ebay for taillights parts and I came across these. Has anyone seen this style before? They're classified as "JDM". It doesn't state whether they are DEPO or some other kind of off brand.

Those are CDM, Chinese Domestic Market, taillights.

I've only seen a set on AZ once or twice and one set was on sale for $495 used.

Member KB1Spec bought his set from China Acura and installed them on his old TL pictured above. If the set on eBay are legit, I would PM him if you have any questions.

I'm not specifically looking to buy them, just thought I'd post them up for anyone possibly interested. I've never seen any other taillight offered besides what USR sells.

Gotcha. Whoever is interested in those needs to message the seller to see if they are OEM or not. If so, absolutely awesome deal.

I would imagine they aren't oem. Either way it seems pretty cheap.

I just sent him a message, I'll let you guys know what he says. I would assume they are aftermarket, but I want to know who made them. DEPO I wouldn't mind, anyone else I would say forget it.

I used to help a few members here to mod the tail lamps. The VERY first set was actually a Type S tail lamp. Then I brought a set of base TL tail lamp and cut it apart and took out the clear signal diffuser and swap it out with the Type S red diffuser. I was the few own make this conversion back then. I was running that set a while ago. Then my friend's father owns an Acura dealership in China back then and I have him order me a set of CDM tail lamp. I sold my old set and installed the CDM back then.

After that, Depo has been making a variation of the TL Taillamp. From all clear to smoke to all red.

From what I see from the OP's ebay link, I can be very confidence it could be a LEGIT CDM tail lamp and the price is by far the cheapest and someone should JUMP on it. The reason why I might believe it is legit is that on the tail lamp on the edges you see a vertical reflectors. I'm not talking about the signal area but the opposite side. Because on my CDM it look similar to that. Here is my CDM tail lamp

Not a fan of the vertical reflectors at all, but the cleared turn signal looks pretty good

KB1, don't the CDM taillights also have a slight protrusion on the turn signals as well?

I guess I'm not the only one buying them.... Only 5 available now. Suck they charged 32 on shipping, to Kansas City, but oh well.. Still cheaper than OEM if I decide to chop these up...

Just because they say Honda on the does not make them OEM. The Chinese are notorious for making knock offs, from car parts to golf clubs.

Acura China are very strict about replacement parts. TL owners from China need to match up there VIN number in order to get any replacement parts. In my case, my friend's father owns an Acura dealer in Guangzhou and uses someone's else VIN number to get me a set of CDM Tail lamp.

I guess the ebay sellers have some way to get a set from China OR maybe there are not as strict as before about getting replacement part.

I am awaiting to get a set of diffuser taillamp from China Acura but no words yet.

Or it could be but from looks of the pictures it looks like exactly like my CDM tail lamp with all the correct markings. But regardless, it is pretty damn cheap for $85 a pair.

Or I can just snap them all from the seller and sell it for $400 a set on here or craigslists LOL

Seems like the seller got hold of a stash of CDM tails, I believe its the same seller who sold a few dozens of CDM headlights back in 09.

BTW they just re-listed the tails and guess what, they just went up $15 in price to $100

130 now. I wouldn't be surprised if he was monitoring this thread as a guest.

He probably closed the listing early and relisted them at a higher price. Supply and demand I guess.

Personally, these tail lights aren't my cup of tea.

Seems like someone is planning on making some more money off of them as that person has bought 8 of them I wouldnt be surprised if they show up sooner or later on ebay or here on AZ with a huge markup.

That listing ran its course, it ended soon as someone bought 8 of them, the seller just realized now that he can probably get away with asking even more .
