tail lights
Hey guys....need some help here.
I have an 04 NBP
The other night, I just noticed with the help of fellow Zine members that my left tail light is slightly dimmer than the right side when the brake is engaged.
I went to Acura today, and was told that it could be the LED connector or board is weaken due to time and usage (wear/tear thing).
My car is just out of warranty, and they said my extended warranty will not cover this. I argued that my car is well within the mileage and is just one month out of warranty, and asked if they can do this for me a courtesy. The rep asked the manager and said that this is only covered under the 1 year 20000km adjustment period. They said I would have to replace the the whole LED unit at a cost of 279.00 + install and tax, or I can replace the whole left tail at a coast of 550.00 + install and tax. I told him, thanks, but no thanks.
I know this is not a big deal, but it kinda bugs me that one said is brighter than the other. When the brake is not engage, and the lights are on, they look the same. Its only noticeable when the brake is engaged.
Anyone else have this problem?
Any advice?
Much appreciated.
Sorry, I don't have any pics of it.

Thats rediculous.
My left LED side marker blew out eventually, but before it did it progressively got dimmer and dimmer. It could be a connector, or it could be on its way out the door.
That extended warranty - what does it cover?
#4
I'm gonna call Acura Customer Service tomorrow.
I'm beginning to think Acuras' extended warranty is bull.
i'm reading the extended warranty brochure.
* bulbs - 1 year / 20000km (this is not a bulb, its an LED electrical unit.
Under Electrical - "All genuine Acura electrical accessories"
" Most electronic control units"
"Brake Light Failure Sensor"
Its gotta fall under one of these covered categories.
WTF - What is wrong with Acura these days?
