Sylvania "LEDriving"

So I got bored today on break from work and I went to a nearby Autozone and purchased Sylvania "LEDriving" bulbs for my license plate... I am blown away by them, see for yourself. I also purchased a set of the SilverStar reverse lights - I'm also impressed by those too.

I just installed these a few days ago and I'm pretty sure they are brighter and whiter than those LEDriving bulbs. Not to mention a little cheaper.

The Sylvania plate bulbs are very nice and so far the closest thing to OEM LED plate lighting that I have seen. To vietxquangstah above, not sure why so many people on this forum think that brighter is better. Not only does a bulb thats too bright just not look good, but it doesnt look anywhere near OEM. For example, when im looking for a LED license plate bulb I want one that closest represents the output and color of an OEM plate light on a new BMW, or Lexus, or something like that. Not a hideously bright bulb.

So I also have the Sylvania LED bulbs in my plates and they are the best I have seen so far. They are a tad on the bright side, but I toned them down slight with a small piee of electrical tape on the end of the lens and IMO they are now perfect.

Very nice, Alex. They look so clean (the light does).

I've got bulbs in mine too. I didn't want ultra bright-just a cleaner look.

Thanks!

Will these bulbs fit into the doors also alongside the Map and Dome lights? If so, I'm going to buy a bunch...

Yeah the doors, front dome lights, rear dome lights, mirrors, and inside of the trunk all use that same bulb type/size

Front doors - 2
Front domes - 2
Rear domes - 2
Inside of trunk - 1
Front mirrors - 2

So you're about to spend $90+tax on some LEDriving lights for interior/doors/trunk

For less than $30 shipped (no tax) you can get some LED board panels for your interior and it will be a little brighter than the LEDriving sylvania bulbs and cost only $2.70 each!

I actually have the 12 LED board versions for doors and domes and they are insanely bright. I would suggest using 6 LED boards and it will be perfect. 5K pure white, no hint or tinge of blue at all.

I have those 6 LED boards for my front mirrors and it's brighter than my 5 LED bulb I had in it before.

If you want pictures check out my thread right here https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...3#post14293223

Remember, those pictures are with 12 LED boards. 6 LED boards would be half the brightness which I think would be just right.

Won't I have to tape those up or something?

I've got these on my Type S and I love them. The color and brightness is perfect IMO.

They all come with double-sided 3M tape that is cut to the size of the board. You can tape them up to the chrome reflector housing of the dome lights. That's what I did

Do the plastic covers over the lights simply pop off? What's the safest method for removing them?

Are you talking about the plastic on the domes? You can pop those off with a small screw driver. There are rectangular wedge areas to wedge it in safely. Hard to see at first but put a flash light near it. I used a small clothe on the screw driver so I didn't scratch the panel or trim.
