Switchblade Key Replacement Spring

Switchblade Key Replacement Spring
I did the 06 key to 07 Switchblade mod a year or so ago. It started acting up and not working correctly. I took it apart, left it on the laundry room counter and the next day my spring was missing.
Does anyone know if I can get a replacement spring anywhere? From the Acura parts sites its looks like you have to buy either a whole new unit or just the key, transmitter and back plate and I think that might include the spring but even that's like $30.
Or maybe has someone tried and been unsuccessful with the switchblade mod and would like to give/sell me their spring?
Thanks

Yes I have done it and there are 2 ways you can do it.
One way is to take the 07 key and actually cut the blank key out of the plastic and cut your current key out of its plastic handle and then glue your key into the switchblade housing. There is a DIY somewhere out there that I followed that gives step by step instructions. I did a quick search for "switchblade" but I couldn't find it in the first 50 results so you may try looking further (there are like 500 results). This is the way I did it and it turned out ok but there was definitely a lot of work to get it looking good and working correctly.
The other option is to buy a 07/08 key blank and have someone mill the key blank down to the 04-06 style key (07/08 has like an inverted key and 04-06 had a regular key with grooves) and then you can have the dealer or locksmith cut and program the key. There is a moderator in here that I think does milling for $30 a key if you already have a blank one or you can even buy the key milled form him for $100 (this was a while ago so I'm not sure if he still does it). I don't remember anyone doing the milling for this cheap when I did my key mod so that's why I did the key swap option. I wish I had taken the milled route.

I had to get a new spring recently when I was doing the switchblade key mode. I just sent the guys at HeelToeAuto an email and they let me know the price. Paid them through paypal and the spring was to me in about a week.
I want to say they charged me like $10 but that might be high.
