Exclamation Switchblade Key Question

I am interested in getting a 2007 switchblade key for my 2006 TL. I saw that you can order it from FLBusa.com for $95, but when I called my local dealer they said it would only cost me $40 to order the switchblade key through them. They also said they would attempt to program it to work with my TL (they haven't tried to program a 2007 key with a 2006 TL yet). Any comments regarding if I should order the key through the dealer or not????

$40 I would go with it... Make sure they are not going to charge you an arm and a leg for the cutting and programing

I paid $45 for a regular key...doh!

The $40 should include cut ant programming.

that 40 is only for the 07 model, it is going to be pain to try to get it modded correctly locally, if I was you, i would go ahead and order from flbusa.com

It won't work. FLBUSA.com custom cuts the key to the 04-06 ones. The 07 keys are laser cut and only fit on the 07's. Good luck

No!

FLBUSA mills down the switch blade key to the specs of the '06 key. If you don't do this, the dealer will not be able to cut the key for your '06.
I highly recommend you read FLBUSA's thread in the black market section.

Hope this steers you in the right direction

missed ballin's message - he's right on!

I got my FLB Key last week.. I haven't had it cut or programmed yet, but knowing someone who knows what he is doing made it makes me feel better. Plus, a 04-06 to 07 conversion without milling would require cutting and some glue.. may not last that long. I'd rather have a pro do it

the $40 might be for an un-milled key. you will probably have to get it milled first before it can be cut.

the $95 key you buy from flbusa is milled and ready to be cut and programmed.
