Which Switchbacks Should I Buy???

I'm looking to clear my headlights and install some switchback turn signals.

Can you guys provide me with links and/or part #'s for which switchbacks you recommend: explaination would be nice too. I have an 05 Acura tl, 7443 bulb size.

Thanks!

V-LEDs now sells switchbacks that run white but when you turn the blinker on you only see the amber and doesn't go back and forth from amber to white. That is the V2 bulbs.

They had V1s which did run white and switched back and forth from amber to white when they blinked.

I believe that these work just like the V1s.

I got mine from autolumination.com since when I wanted switchbacks, v-leds.com was out of stock. Here is the link:

http://autolumination.com/7443_7440.htm

Scroll down until you see "7443 LED Combination Amber and White LED Tower Bulbs".

I got the 48-LED version. Keep in mind that these flash white-yellow-white when the turn signals are engaged when the headlights are on. If the headlights are off, the flash strictly yellow.

Ohh cool... What about if you just have the parking lights on (or whatever it's called when you click your lights on 1 click: if 2 clicks=headlights on)? Do they light up white or amber?

Also, if you have any pix of the fit/look of the 48-led in your headlight please do show! If providing a video is possible then please please please be my guest.

I've already bought my resistors just waiting to buy the right switchbacks...

Thanks

If you have the parking lights on then they flash white-yellow-white when the turn signal is engaged. The ONLY time they are all yellow is when the parking lights and headlights are off.

Here are some pictures and a video:

The last picture is the video, but I can't get it to embed in the thread right. Just click on it and you will be taken to the video on Photobucket

No problem man! The switchbacks are plug and play. There is no modification necessary.

Ok well the guy on ebay at the link posted by TLin401, said this:
"Dear Customer,

We have done installation for a 2008 Acura TL with these LED bulbs before, they will light up Xenon White in driving mode and flash in Amber Yellow color.

However, since the LED bulbs have lower wattage, you might need to add a pair load resistors to prevent the hyper flashing issue."

Having read this, has anyone had an issue with this, or is it possible that this guy is just trying to sell me stuff I dont need?

It is true, if you don't want hyper flashing you will need to install resistors.

Regular bulbs lol

all LEDs will hyperflash due to the difference in wattage

I installed the resistors in my trunk, its not that hard there is DIY threads in the 3G garage

So the resistors just need to run on that circut? Meaning it doesnt matter where I install them? This doesn't affect the rear OEM flashers?

as long as you connect it to flasher circut, the rear or front but the rear is the easiest. If you dont install a resistor, the rear light will also hyperblink.

Shawn my email reads this: " Dear Customer,

We have done installation for a 2008 Acura TL with these LED bulbs before, they will light up Xenon White in driving mode and flash in Amber Yellow color.

However, since the LED bulbs have lower wattage, you might need to add a pair load resistors to prevent the hyper flashing issue.

You can find these LED load resistors on our website at http://store.ijdmtoy.com/50W-Load-Resistor-Blinkers-License-Plate-Light-Fix-p/led_load_resistor.htm

If you are interested at gettting them together, we will give you the load resistors for just 5.99 dollars extra.

So if you are interested at this, please let us know.

For any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know at anytime.

Sincerely
MM

"
So its my impression that one resistor runs on the circut. IDK... ANYBODY???

It looks like a pain to install the resistor but if you have to for the switchbacks to function properly then I will do it.

Thanks both of you guys.

I ordered the resistors from that link you gave me. 10 bucks is no big deal so I just went ahead with it. I hope we only needed 1 order of that resistor.

The installation doesn't look that hard at all from the link that Mem04TL gave. Thanks again.
