Switch backlight question

Are the volume and channel buttons are the streering wheel supposed to be backlit? I assume yes given the fact that the rest of them are. Also, my drivers side seat heat switch backlighting doesn't work. Anybody know if this can be easily repaired. My nearest dealer is 75 miles away so if I can fix it myself with minimal expense I will (I'm and aircraft mechanic, so I think I can handle it). I did do a search and didn't find anything like what I am looking for, so please don't tell me to search.
Thanks,
Eric

Hey Eric,

WELCOME to the forum!

It would help if you gave us the year of your car. I can't answer for other years, or for the TL base, but I own an '07 TLS and every button on my steering wheel is lighted including the two you mentioned.

Hope that helps.

Yes, they are supposed to have backlights... it looks like you have to replace the light bulbs...

Yes, the switches are all supposed to be backlit on the 04-06 years as well.
And yes, there was a thread that started in late '04 that continued through end of '05 regarding replacing the burned-out lights; I don't recall if there were photos in that thread. The seat heater switch is the easiest compared to the steering wheel switch lights, IIRC. Try checking the 3G Garage for the thread.
