Swapping seat covers???

My driver side seat is starting to show a little wear, but my passenger seat is practically brand because I rarely have passengers. I would like to swap them in another six months or so to keep the wear equal on them. Has anyone swapped the seat covers or does anyone think that I would encounter any problems doing? They appear to be identical fit.

you may be able to replace them under warrenty for premature wear. I have mine on order when I have my next service.

I had both my seat covers swapped out with the '05 style. It was a lot more work and hassle than I originally thought. First, the dealer ordered the leather for both the bottom and seat back. After making an appointment to have the leather covers changed, they told me the cushion would also have to be changed. Since it was a warranty issue on the leather only, I was informed that I'd have to pay for the cushions. They run around $100 each. After the second appointment, the mechanic called me saying that the seat heater would also have to be changed. The new covers, and cushions have an extra channel or groove cut into the foam to allow for the seam which has a rod attached to be pulled down into the material creating the indentation for the seam. There are several attachment points for the rod that is sewn into the extra seam. The seat heater has an extra break where the additional seam is on the '05 seat. The old heater will not work since the seam would cut into the heater possibly damaging the wires or causing a fire. The seat heaters are $90 each. After all the work was done, the seats look great and fit perfectly. Acura customer service told my mechanic the frame was different but that was BS. They fit perfectly.

This whole ordeal turned out to be time consuming and expensive. The warranty covered the leather for the seat bottom, seat back, and labor. Everything else depends on how well your dealer is willing to go out on a limb for your business. In the end, it was worth it.
