Such thing as Fake Mileage?
theres an 04 wdp w/nav that is for sale at $11,500. crazy thing it only has 75,000 miles. kbb says price should be around $14k
dont know if it's possible for the tl's but theres obvoiusly been cases where sellers do things to make the mileage lower than it actually is..
what are you opinions and is it possible for the tl?

Simply asked for maintenance documents to cross-reference mileage with repairs and service. Focus on tire replacements and when they occurred.
I have a 2006 TL with 45,000 miles so having a 2004 TL with 75,000 miles is not unreasonable.

If it's a second car that gets seldom used then 75K miles for an 8 year old car is not out of the question. Heck, I sold my 11 year old Jeep Wrangler with only 25K miles. It just didn't see many miles after the first 3 years or so. Just became a vehicle I drove only when the weather was nice - top down (70 degrees + yet below 90 degrees) or when the weather was crap (snow, etc.). That weather only occurs a few months out of the year hear in NC.

Yes it can be crazy having low milage but that milage isn't even too unreasonable. It is possible but just because it is lower then you expect doesn't mean they changed it. Just do your research. If carfax has info about maintenance done and the milage matches believe it (to an extent.) If no carfax maintenance is being reported dont pass it as being modified as they could have done the maintenance themselves like a lot of people but would make me more curious.

It's possible, but it would be more trouble than it's worth.(to most people at least) I wouldn't think anything of it because the mileage isn't that crazy. If it had 2 miles then I would say somethings up. lol My guess would be there is something wrong with the car that the dealer isn't putting out there. (mechanically or cosmetically)
If you are really interested in it I would say go look at it, but get it checked out by a mechanic and have them look over it thoroughly. But chances are at that point he would just end up telling you. Like the other guy said, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Dealers rarely sell under Blue Book unless there is something to make it worth less.

If the gauge cluster anything like the mazda's. It should be connected to the computer brain, and there for if you were to swap it you would need dealer to reprogram your miles. I would think it should be harder now , and not like it was back in the day with the integras lol..

142k on my 05
vette guys are the same way.. they actually have contests to see who can drive the least amount of miles in a year. This is crazy to me. I find reasons to take my cars out for a leisure drive and on vacations/roadtrips! Drive your cars, people!

OP-even if i was selling i certainly wouldn't low ball the price...i'd be asking over the KBB price!! and its not only b/c of the miles.

Same with us. My GN has around 300,000 miles since I've owned it since '94 and I was a teenager and drove it everywhere. My father's '84 GN has about 18,000 on it and we bought them around the same time.

I love driving my tsx. It is a car-it is meant to be driven.

But at the same time, I enjoy the time and mileage spent in my car, as long as i'm in it either as a passenger or driver. It was not destined to be a garage queen
/sorry for OT. Just empathizing.
