hahaha i definitely put a Type S badge on my CL...now i feel bad...but i wouldnt put one on the TL for sure...the best thing is going into a local auto parts store and seeing those Type R or Type S badges that look like knockoffs...and its even better watching people buy them haha

Perhaps there should be a new rule - no Type-S owners may sell their badges to non-Type-S owners. All Type-S badges removed from a real Type-S must be immediately destroyed to avoid the improper use of said badges. e.g. F-14 parts and Iran.

I had type r badges on my 97 accord. Complete with type r wing, side decals and everything....

This was before the big import boom so no one really gave me flack. At meets they would look at me funny until they realized I had completed the motor swap. Ah the good ole days.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of people doing it but I really couldn't care less. I think we all have seen some disgusting shit done to TLs on here lately, all you can do is bite your lip and be glad its not your car. I've seen a few TLs in my area with nasty, cheap rims, but all I can do is appreciate that they too enjoy and care about their car. I'd rather see a riced out TL than one that's neglected terribly and is never cared for (which is what I see more often than not).

There are numerous Base TL's in my area with TL-S wheels, headlights, tails, side markers, etc....and base exhaust. I always give a wave or nod to nice TL's but when I see someone these, I just shake my head.

TL's in my area are pretty uncommon ESPECIALLY Type-S's. There are only 2 Acura dealerships in my state and the nearest one is an hour away. I have never seen any modified 3G's in my area and my city is large. I've probably only seen a handful of 4G floating around.

not necessarily a TL but i've seen a lot of stick on hood scoops and "port holes" on the fenders.

Sometimes I think these people are just trolling on purpose. No way can someone think it actually looks good.

the purists don't like posers.

don't be a poser, it just makes you look like a big D-O-R-K!

its even worse with ricers with the stupid wing and tasteless mods. please stop adulterating the TL, it isn't a civic.

You can't stop the madness...lol...to each his/her own. I personally don't care for the badges. If its not a "true" type-s ect...y? Sigh...although I do love to see a Honda badge on a Acura...ONLY if its from the factory. we don't see many of those where I live. Just a bunch of Jeeps and we all wave at each other. I have only seen one other tl like mine...whoa was it in bad shape!

I could care less if someone puts a type-s badge on a base tl. I just hope to never see one with wheels so big(24" or 26") that they have to install a lift kit just to get the wheels on there.

lol come to the city in new york and you will see atleast 5 TLs parked in the same block. So you can pretty much say which TL's owner keeps the car fresher.

PS: Thank god i haven't seen someone stupid enough to put a spoiler wing that big on a TL what so ever lmao. I would so flip him off, heck i might as well buy him a Type-R emblem lmao.

lol.. just making shiz up...

on the same topic, back in the 90s it was always fun to see the
4banger mustang dorks put on a mis aligned extra pipe along the
bottom rear to make it look like a dual exhaust v8. lol. saw one with the
extra pipe held on with rope and was dangling downwards.
I remember that so well. There were so many 2.3L 4 banger Mustangs with a 5.0 emblem, wide tires, and fake dual exhaust. What exactly are they going to do when challenged?

Same with the Z28 Camaro. I don't think I've seen a V6 with regular Camaro badges. Every single V6 I see has Z28 badges and a Flowmaster out back.

True story, back in the '90s when the GN vs Mustang war was in full effect I kept hearing from the Mustang crowed that they had taken out a GNX. I heard it several times from different people and I just couldn't believe it. One day I'm driving down the street and see a GNX. I catch it quickly and it looked authentic except I spotted a 7.5" 10 bolt axle when the turbo cars ran an 8.5" 10 bolt. It was a 105hp Regal GNX clone which was bad enough but he was going around "racing" everyone and losing in a 19 second 105hp car. I literally flipped him off and left him.

Running a base with Type S badges is gay. I can understand if you like certain things about the TL-S better such as the bumpers, rims, etc. I have no problem with people trying to make their cars look better but the badge is a completely different category, it's being a poser. I saw a bone stock base with Type S badges just a few weeks ago. What happens when that G37 owner races it and goes around bragging about how he beat a TL-S???

you're absolutely right, specially when they post them up in youtube. I've seen many cars who gets beat in a race and that would be one of the reasons. Labeling your car with another car's emblem=decrease of popularit and embarrassment.

I wish I can show you guys this lime green TL with chrome 20's on it that I have now spotted twice in Tampa. I tried taking a video of it in traffic on the highway and got a little glimpse of it rolling but I thought the video wasn't long or good enough to post here.

Today, on my way to the dentist I spotted this abomination again. I waited to see where he was going and saw him pull into a gas station located on the opposite side of traffic. I thought to myself- should I try and make a u-turn and get a pic/video at the gas station or do I go to my appointment. I thought of you all and the type of funny responses it would elicit so I got in the turn lane. The light was taking forever. When I finally made the u-turn and turned into the station he was coming out and I was coming in.

Needless to say I didn't want him to see me snap pics/video of him while I was going straight at him so I lost the opportunity again because I didn't want to follow him. He was going the opposite way away from my dentist office.

Hopefully I see this car again so I can show you all it.....

LOL if i were you i would've pretended that his car was "the shit" the best thing around lol. Then i would've asked him if i could take pics of it.

Its funny. I've been a member since '05 and I couldn't tell a type s from a regular TL. I struggle to tell what year a car is and course I have no idea what an A-spec kit looks like.
