This is situation has been eating me at the moment and I couldn't sleep. I need advise quickly..
If I do purchase the car, will I be facing any legal issues+problems registering?

Does it have a salvaged title? I used to have an 05 Silverado. It got stolen from me but recovered and insurance made everything better than it was before. The thieves just wanted to strip it of the rims and stereo. I didn't have any problems with it after the theft. Mine still had a clean title but if repairing the damage was close to what the car was worth they would total it. If it's salvaged I wouldn't bother. Although this is a different situation than mine since i owned it before the theft so I was aware of everything that needed to be repaired.
edit: just so you know, that link you provided is telling you to steer clear of people that are trying to pass off stolen cars as their own to sell. If the seller of this vehicle is telling you that the car has previously been stolen, chances are it's a legit deal and he or she is the actual owner.

That is if the state has not gotten record of it being recovered. I.E it is against the law if your friend stole a car and you bought it from fully knowing he stole it. On the other hand, if someone stole a car and sold it without you knowing it was stolen you would just get jipped of all your money if the police knew (police would confiscate car because it being stolen- aka return back to original owner). It being at the dealer would mean that the state found the car to be stolen and consider it totaled or original owner not found. So if the paper work is OK (read carefully)-- it should be good.
