Stock Car Alarm?
Hey everyone i just bought a used stock 2004 pearl white acura tl yesterday, and i was wondering if it comes with a car alarm?
I know this may sound like a stupid question, but i was unsure about it i saw the security thing on the driver door, but was unsure if it was the same as a Car Alarm..
Thanks guys

sit in the car... hit the lock button on the keyfob... pull up the lock with your hand and open the door... if your alarm doesnt go off.. you don't have an alarm
yes there is, our cars dont come standard with shock sensors or glass sensors..factory alarm doesnt cut it for me atleast so i went out and got a viper 5900 alarm with remote start and wired my own horns to it for security purposes..factory alarm will only sound when the door is opened whiled locked (if someone breaks any of the windows, and jumped in your car thru the window factory alarm = useless)..aftermarket alarm is the way to go

Our alarms.. well they suck. I woke up only to realize that I got hit one day and now my front bumper has a bunch of paint chips--it likes like a spider-web thing almost.
So I tried hitting all around the car and opening all doors[from outside]... nothing happened.

if your looking for an after market alarm and remote start - ive always been a big fan of viper..this is my 3rd car with it and would def recommend it. works well on the TL, had it on mine since last may. i heard compustar was also good as this was recommended to me at the shop i got my viper alarm installed but i choose the viper since i knew how to work it and was comfortable using it

compustar is really good... apparently.
my pops has one [older version] on his minivan..
my buddy has a newer one on his 8G Galant and my other buddy, out of town/province, has one on his 6G Celica.
It's really bulky[the newer ones] but it has loads of different features and a 2way alarm--I don't think you need all the other features though.

I would rather just "ADD" a "shock sensor and/or glass break sensor" to the existing stock factory alarm & NOT loose using SB keyfob & have to carry another alarm remote. The SB keyfob - arm/unarm, lock/unlock doors, unlock trunk, open windows & sunroof, memory 1&2....I like it too much.
^ even with shock sensors..how many times you here a car alarm actually going off and see anyone do anything about it? i rather have my aftermarket 2way pager..i want to know whats going on with my car every min..puts my mind at ease..and if something did happen atleast it will alert me and il have time to call 911/security as its happening..even if im a mile or 2 away from my car. car theives see that blue flashing light they already know what kind of alarm it is..there not stupid trust me lol. the 2way can do pretty much everything the keyfob can do if you buy the individual modules to control it like opening/closing windows etc...and besides..you cant get remote start on the keyfob like you can on a 2way pager viper alarm
people who live thru freezing cold winters know what its like and wish they had remote starts for that morning to work commute
