Still pretty easy...

In the local paper last week was an article (police blotter thing) that said at the Acura Dealership on Rt.22 in NJ - eight 2005 Acuras had their headlights stolen and also out of a 1998 that was there - poor guy probably went in for an oil change or tire rotation

They said the surveillance cameras showed 3 guys prying the headlights from the cars.

ahhh...where there's a will......

Were they all TL's or some other model? The TL should need more than a little prying to get the headlights out.

Wondering same thing...article did not say. Do you know if any other models are known to be a target for thieves looking for lights? MDX etc.?

MDX doesn't have HID's so I don't know who would want those...

An MDX would be worthless.

I can't believe this is still a problem. I had someone steal my TL-S lights a few years ago. I thought Acura was going to make it a mission to make the new TL's lights impossible to steal. Guess not.

like RonA said i think it takes a little more than prying to get the headlights out. you would have to basically destroy the front fenders to get them out. i haven't seen too many 3rd gen TL's on the road with the headlights missing(knock on wood). i still see alot of maximas and 2nd gen TL's parked without headlights every now and then.

a source from a friend who works from an acura dealership...3G tl are not being touched because its too laborious to get the headlights out. some may but they would have to take out the bumper etc. previous TLs are being vandalized for the HIDs.

I think that's the dealer that I left my car at last week for servicing. Luckily, my TL is OK!
