Sticky film on the finish

I got my 2008 WDP TL on July 1, After I got it washed I noticed a sticky film on the spoiler, like the residue sometimes left behind when you pull a band aid off. There was also grease on the handle and rocker panels. I have had it washed again but it didn't remove it.

Any idea what this is or how to get it off?

Thanks, Jim

Hi Jim, welcome to the fourms and congrats on your purchase. If you bought the TL new, it should have been detailed by the dealership. If not, it's okay. To get the residue off, you can use some goo-gone, wd-40 or clay the car. I don't want to be rude, but this also belongs in the wash and wax section, but since your new, its okay.

Jim, first of all welcome to AZ. Tons of great info in here. I'd go through the Wash and Wax section, just reading post about taking care of your car. Sooooooooooo much to learn. Personally, I've used Goo Gone to get rid of sticky residue on my car with no problems. Just use very little on a clean cotton cloth. Rub gently........should come off.

Thanks for the help. I am going to see if I can get the dealer to clean it. I also need to get the codes for the radio and Nav system. There were two stickers on the side of the glove box, but they aren't marked as to which is radio and which is Nav. Plus they aren't marked as to code and S/N.

I did find the wash and wax secion and have been checking it out. Thanks again.

Jim
