Steering wheel removal?

My steering wheel is worn out bad by previous owner, i picked up a a mint condition one from LKQ for $50. I know its pretty straight forward, done it on my other cars before. Just making sure if theres anything special about the process on these TLs? any thread or tips on it would be great. Thanks

Be sure to loosen the steering wheel bolt but put it back on while you're trying to remove the wheel, so when the wheel does break free it does so in a less violent manner and prevents your clockspring from breaking.
I rented a steering wheel puller and ended up stripping the threads of the steering wheel. Just resorted to pulling the wheel with all my might from all corners.

Aside from that, just draw a line down the splines to help you put it back on.

have fun

just finished it, just like any other steering wheel, pretty straight forward. IMPORTANT tip though! make sure you steering wheel is straight when removing so when you go to put the new wheel in it you put it straight also. Stupid me had to take it for a spin, and come back to do it over again. When I when to yank the wheel off it turned it a little bit, when putting the new wheel on straight it was off.

My wheel spines already had a notch on it. Easy DIY. Although i did have to punch the crap out of it to break free.

Come to think of it I think mine had an engraved notch also, but I still went over it with a thick sharpie so there's less room for error.

there will be a notch at 9,12 and 3 oclock position, however I would recommend you get a sharpie and draw a line just to be sure. You want to make sure that the steering wheel is straight as possible before remove the steering wheel. I did replaced the steering wheel on my RL and it pretty much easy, the car still track true and straight no issue.

Very straight forward. Hardest part is disconnecting the horn/airbag and reassembling it.

Anyone need switches from the old wheel, they’re more than welcome to pay shipping before I toss them out.
